yes you are correct, but before he lost the belt stevenson was mando for the ibf...bute chose to go fight froch rather than his mando...granted it was a much bigger payday...

the thing is i remember early in butes career he was sparing with adonis but had asked to change parters because he said that adonis hits too hard...so he knew he wanted no part of that in a real fight...he chose froch for the bigger payday thinking it would be an easier fight, but he lost anyways...

then when stevenson beat don george he was mando for froch...they tried talks to make a deal, but froch turned to kessler....because it was a unification bout they were able to bypass stevenson....

so when stevenson got the chance to fight for a belt at 175 he jumped on the chance, and made litterally the most he could from his opportunity...there is no way the fight against dawson could have gone any better to propule him to stardom...then the pure domination against cloud sealed the deal for adonis to be at the top...

but to be real did froch and bute duck adonis? yes, yes they did....was it for a bussiness decision? yes, its most always about the financials....except when you see a guy like ward who cant fill the seats refuse fights for whatever reason....that is a real duck!(ward-bute duck!)

A bit of a joke thread really aimed at dick head AshishWarrior/HerolGee (same person, but let's be honest, he was mandatory Froch fought Mack instead so he had to move up. He would have destroyed Froch easily as well.

    Based on what ?
He never beat anybody of note at 168, but your saying he'd have blown Froch out the water ?
Your following the blind masse's who've all been dickriding Stevenson since beating Dawsons corpse and Cloud at 175.

Stevenson was knock down, ready to go back, and the ref stop the fight. A hometown stoppage. A classic american job. Ward would have lost to if the same ref would have been in there when he fought Boone.

Still, that doesn't make Froch ducking Stevenson. Stevenson jumped on the Dawson fight, instead of going for the Froch's belt, if I reckon.

The fight was in Maryland. Darnell is from Youngstown, lived in Atlanta, and is now back in Youngstown... It wasn't a hometown stoppage. It was a good old fashion KO. You are correct in stating that Adonis got to his feet, but he was still out.

im a huge adonis fan...but yes he got up...but was out on his feet, kinda like dawson was after stevenson floored him....

boone has the natural fighting skill, but has lacked any proper leadership throughout his career and has often taken big fights at last minute....boone has knocked down ward, kovalev, and ko stevenson all with the same punch, the uppercut.....its my very strong belief that if boone had of been managed and coached by the right ppl he would be a top level contender....even better than cloud...much better....but boone has had a very mismanaged career and has not trained as most boxers do...

Too much of a high risk, low reward. Stevenson was Froch's mandatory for a while after a proper IBF title eliminator, and Froch went for the money by fighting Kessler. If Stevenson didn't choose to take the opportunity at LHW which had KTFO Dawson, maybe the Groves fight wouldn't have happened - Froch-Stevenson would have.

    Stevenson was interviewed yesterday...

« Tu ne peux pas savoir à quel point j'aimerais qu'il vienne m'essayer, dit-il. Quand j'étais à 168 livres, il a refusé de m'affronter. Il savait ce qui se serait passé. J'en ai discuté avec le vice-président de HBO. Ils vont travailler fort, HBO et GYM, pour organiser cela. Que ce soit pour Froch ou pour Hopkins.»

-You have no idea how I would like him to try me out. When I was at 168, he refused to fight me. He knew what would have happened. I discussed this with the VP of HBO. My promoter and HBO will work hard to make this happen, whether it's Froch or Hopkins.

Bute did not duck Stevenson. He was already signed for Froch when Stevneson won a semi final eliminator vs Gonzo. He did however fight 2 eliminators for Froch and Forch instead fought Mack b/c he wanted an easy one, and then he fought Kessler in the unification fight.

Don't know the reasoning for not fighting Stevenson, but if it looks like a duck????????:think:think:think
    PS......

    Huge Froch fan/Stevenson hater:deal

He was mando for Bute but he went for Froch instead. Then he was mando for Froch but decided to do a volontary defense agaisnt Yusaf Mack and then a rematch with Kessler. After being sidelined for so long, Stevenson went, understandably, for Dawson's belt when he got the chance.

You sir are a d!ckriding Stevnson fan.

    NO......he was NEVER Bute's mandatory. NOT EVER.:nono

He beat Jesus Gonzalez in a semi final for the #2 spot.

His fight with George was for the #1 spot.

And even if the Gonzo fight was for the mandate, it was in February....Bute signed for Froch in December, just after he beat Johnson.:nono:nono:nono

Get your f/n facts straight before you go spouting off Bute hatred. There are ppl here who don't fact check and take BS like your spewing as truth.

Get it right or let ppl know your spouting OPINION.

actually im a fan of both stevenson and bute...but yes bute did duck stevenson, it was for financial reason which is understandable like i said.....but he still had offers on the table from him a few times...stevenson was just not in butes game plan

and yes after adonis beat noe gonzalez, he was mando for the ibf, he ws ranked #2 before that fight...won, then was the mando...who held the ibf belt at the time????

    thats right...bute...lol...

you just twisting facts to play in favor of what you want ....but fact is stevenson was ibf mando ..
