    Truly awful stoppage.

    1. Groves had his hands up, was still throwing punches.
    2. It's a world title fight for **** sake.
    3. Groves had Froch hurt numerous times in the fight, in the 1st round Froch's legs were gone.
    4. There must be a rematch.

What truly should be stopped is that referee be given any more fights involving domestic fighters. He is clearly incompetent or dishonest.

Why hasn't Howard Foster come out and told us exactly why he stopped the fight, surely he is aware of the controversy he has caused, maybe if he stated why, people may take a better view of him, but as it stands he seems almost as hated as Froch himself at the minute.

What truly should be stopped is people whining on about 'incompetent' referees.

Why should he? Whatever happened to 'the ref's decision is final'? Even if he did make a mistake (and I think he did) why can't folk just man up, accept it and move on? You'll have to, sooner or later.

Diehard Froch fan, but way to early. Groves was outboxing Froch, but i do believe Froch was on his way to a TKO win, sadly we'll never know

Yea. I feel the same. If it had gone 10 seconds longer It had the potential to be one of the best come backs from a fight. Both fighters were robbed in different ways. As well as the viewing public.

As some industry pros have suggested & some have suggested on this forum I think it was an accidental stoppage. The ref was taking a good look at it and was getting ready for a possible stoppage....then he kind of falls into Groves & calls it off. Im certain a split second later hes thinking wtf have I just done but by then its too late.
I'm certain I've seen the opposite before of a ref calling it off, only to change his mind a split second later and let the fight continue.

The fight had turned in Frochs favour, groves was on the way out, maybe at risk of injury.
It often happens that the stopped fighter was ahead on points.
Unless I'm mistaken here are two recent examples.
Andy Lee was leading JCC on all cards when their fight was stopped.
Danny Jacobs was leading Pirog on all cards too.....(although that was bull**** scoring)

The real villains were the 2 judges who robbed groves of approx 4 points each.
That's the real story , not the ref, who can be excused for what he did.

Just calm down about the stoppage and enjoy the rematch.
