Stevenson asked HBO for 1. Hopkins, or 2. Froch. Let's see where this goes. :D

That's bull****. Stevenson wanted a title shot and Froch wasnt willing to give it to him. If he really wanted to fight him he would've fought him instead of Mack. And then Kessler. When the Dawson fight presented itself, he jumped on it like anyone would.

the only reason why it didn't happen was that every one was talking about a rematch with Kessler. the negotiations were already in full swing by that time and signed not long after.

had Adonis held on at the weight, he would have got his shot after the fight. but he stepped up after getting a chance at Dawson. the rest is history.

    no duck what so ever.

Well I have to be honest Ted I do not remember that particular incident but I do remember that, at the time, people were laughing about Stevenson's chances in a fight with Froch and making out as though they were little to none.

So if you did fancy Stevenson to give a good account of himself at that time, you would have been in the vast minority.

I'll be honest I'm not really saying this was a full on duck (just sick of the praise Froch gets for his opponents and double standards). Still though Froch could have fought Stevenson rather than Mack, he no doubt took the lower risk, lower reward fight.

Can really say it is a duck? When as you said yourself Froch wanted an easier fight in Mack after fighting Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell, Kessler, Johnson, Ward and Bute back to back.

Kessler was rated higher at the time than Stevenson and thought of as the better boxer by most posters up untill the Dawson fight, and it was a chance to revenge one of his defeats.
