Yeah we know: Unless a division is controlled by Americans or Mexicans it is "weak".

    Boring ****....

The IBF in general favors Veterans in their ratings. So prospects rarely pick up the IBF which keeps it aside, if you look at the IBF Champions for the last 10 years they have the lowest win/lose ratio. Which is good, because many of those veterans are really better than the Undefeated hype

I fully agree, but the bums who are contesting the IBF title all refuse to fight GGG. Some of them have agreed to fight Martinez (who has far less power than GGG) and came up short.

It's a paper title, and will continue to be for a while.

Well, maybe you just don't know what is common knowledge in the boxing world. GGG calls out Martinez all the time, whereas Sergio just keeps booking lesser opponents who are incapable of putting him to sleep. This time it's Miguel Cotto. Before it was guys like Darren Barker and Matthew Macklin, who have no fans to this day.

At least Sergio will have to vacate his paper title and finally we'll have a universally recognized champion.

    hilarious!!!!

    the old call out huh?

boxers call out fighters they have no intention of fighting all the time u fool. it means nothing.

I called out mike Tyson when he was in his prime, but u wouldn't have gotten me in the ring to face him, lol.

So a lot of you guys jump on Golovkins case for fighting a bum like Adama but you have no problem with two bums contesting the IBF title this weekend?

He will make far more money fighting Cotto than Golovkin.

I would suggest that its a matter of fighting to one's level.

Golovkin is being built up as a monster, one of the dominant fighters of this generation, one of the best fighters across all divisions who everyone from Middleweight to Light Heavyweight and maybe more is scared of. A fighter with such a reputation should not be fighting fringe contenders.

Barker had only recently reached the world stage and has a minor profile and no hype. Sturm is a long established world level fighter but he is at the tail-end of his career and his best days are behind him. It is perfectly acceptable for these two to fight for a paper title.

Golovkin is considered a level or more above Adama, Barker and Sturm are considered about the same level.
