I need a little help understanding Adonis Stevenson's career timeline. So he was born September 22 in 1977 at around 21 years of age he served time in prison for "pimping" it says he got out in 01 making him 24 years old. I've heard some say he was a boxer before he went to prison, some say after he got out he started boxing. He compiled a record of 33-5 total in the amateurs including Quebec middleweight champion (ama) in 2004, best amateur fighter in the country from 05-06, Also had the canadian national title in 05-06 and won a silver medal in the XVIII Commonwealth games of Melbourne, Australia in 2006 at 29 years old. He turns pro in 2006 (29 y/o) wins his first legit WBC title at super middleweight against Alcoba in 2012 and then after knocking out Dawson gets the WBC and Ring LH titles June of this year 2013 at 36 years of age. My information primarily came from wikipedia, boxingrec and some other articles so it isn't 100% But I feel its pretty solid generally speaking.

    Here are my questions:

Did Stevenson start boxing at a younger age before going to prison and then start back up after he got out? Some sources said he boxed before prison does he have any amateur bouts before his incarceration?

    Or

Did he pick up boxing after Prison and have success late starter?

The consensus is that he was sentenced to 4 years in Prison but "actual time served" varies most sources say 1.5 - 2 years however he also got convicted of assault from a fight he had in prison did that extend his sentence?

How long did he train at Kronk with the late great Emmanuel Steward?

How do you rate him as a fighter?

He seems like a very powerful southpaw slugger what else can you tell me about him?

Those Kronk shorts are awesome. I think he took it up late though. He lost to Bute in the amateurs apparently?

from what i know is earlier in their pro careers(either just before bute became champ or just after)....adonis was one of bute's sparring partners, i believe bute's coach larouche said bute got the better of him, but i had also heard that bute had asked to not spar adoinis any more because he hit too hard

Did he pick up boxing after Prison and have success late starter?

This is what Adonis said to the Judge "My goal is to go to the Olympics. (Before the arrest), I trained really regularly, six hours per day. I train in the morning. I run two hours, "

He was sentenced a month more for aggravated asssault for the fight with the inmate.
