I think Hopkins will try to make it an ugly fight, and therefore it will be difficult for JC to really dominate. I can't see Hopkins win though, unless the judges are bribed to hell, which wouldn't surprise me a whole lot.

That is true but you know Joe did not wanna come here for a decent price. Both were no name fighters at the time and had no leverage in negoations. :-(

Well...that is about as wrong as you can be.

The fight was being negotiated as a multi fight deal with Showtime. They offered Hopkins a certain amount to fight Joe in the UK. Hopkins said no...asked for more money and that the fight be in the US. They said ok to the money...but no to it being over here. Hopkins said no (and if you are wondering why...maybe you should look into Hopkins fight with Mercado...not the actual fight, but the happens OUTSIDE of the ring...trust me Bernard has his reasons why he doesnt travel to fight anymore...).

I hate when posters hear (or better yet read) one thing and take it as gospel. Do some research....

Excuse? You must be blind if you fail to see that if Hopkins choses to box with Calzaghe he will be outboxed for 12 rounds. Bernard is smarter than that. Give the guy some credit.

PS If you want to be a troll, why do you insist on being a clueless one? You appear smarter than that afterall.

This fight will be easier for Calzaghe than the Kessler fight was. Bernard at this stage of his career is too defence oriented and as soon as things get tough, his gone go into a shell. He demonstrated this twice in the Taylor fights, some people say Hopkins is ageless but I say his just done a good job of hiding it. The Bernard of old would have had a chance against Calzaghe, but not this one, his just not willing to take a shot to get his in, thats why Calzaghe will UD him.

Joe is not garbage, he is just fighting a smarter, more experienced fighter who can time his punches better, Hopkins has a right hand that will prove to be poison for Calzaghe. Workrate and all.

This is a bigger physically stronger fighter than the one who lost agaist Taylor. JT was able to push him back, Joe will not be able to do the same thing to this 175 pound frame. Plus Joe does not hit as hard as JT does now.

why are you so down on Kessler??? He did an awful lot better against Calzaghr than did the then emerging American superstar Lacy. Look how that ended up. It's time you opened your eyes and recognised hype from quality.
did you by any chance pick Lacy to destroy Calzaghe?

You mean the same weight drained old man who was not long before hand when he fought ODH he could make 154lbs, amazing how fans of fighters use excuses etc about weight when the fighter they support showed no trouble when they actually weigh in lighter than the weight limit :rofl
