I think Broner has a good chin and he also braces himself for punches well and rolls with them well. Having a strong neck is a good thing as well.
It's not even that he has a strong neck. The dude literally has no neck. I mean, his neck is short as hell. It's like his head just sits on his shoulders. This content is protected

He does have a weird build.......He looks like a black ninja turtle. I have never seen him hit clean, but for some reason i assume his thick neck and shoulders and as the guy above stated, his very small neck, would mean he can take a good punch. My main question is can he fight a very intelligent pressure fighter with good cardio who will make him work for every round. I think he build inst going to help him in the stamina department.
i think his chin is iron. sometimes you can just tell. he's a solid dude and seems unstoppable when he's on the attack and never seen him wobbled. u can tell when some one has a shaky chin by how they react to getting punched. they take a quick pause. Broner just eats them and keeps going. he reminds me of James Toney. we'll definitely find out next week.
When has Broner ever fought someone with renowned punching power capabilities? Ponce De Leon? At 130 lb.? Please. You must understand that there is a great disparity when comparing the punching power of a Maidana, and someone like Ponce. Ponce was a good puncher at the lower weights such as bantamweight, super bantamweight, and featherweight divisions. Maidana has bone crushing power at welterweight, and junior welterweight. There is just no comparison. Broner is already shaping up to be a plus sized welterweight. Just look at the size difference between him and Paulie. Broner was too big for De Leon to have an effect on him. I predict that Broner has at least par punch resistance abilities, but I wouldn't go as far as to say he has a good chin, let alone iron.
I disagree....I think Broner looked like a very small welterweight when he fought Malignaggi...and he has never been tested by a power punching welterweight so the verdict is still out on his chin. We'll soon find out. I think his defense will keep him from absorbing too much punishment though unless he gets ****y and gets caught with something stupid.
you clearly didn't read the, "we'll find out next week" part of my comment. anyway, never been rocked, stumbled, knocked down, or KO'd. so... IRON, until proven otherwise..
His 'sublime' defense is only effective against those with a vast physical disadvantage. If he shells up the way he did against Paulie when he fights Maidana, I have no doubt that Broner will be in for a very short, but excruciating night. Broner can ill afford to receive that much punishment to the body. Sooner or later his hands will drop, and that's when Maidana will strike. Broner doesn't have very good footwork. Comparing this fight to the one with Alexander is futile. Broner, and Devon are far to different to correctly juxtapose.
Has anyone watched Broner before he fought Paulie? He was always the big guy in every fight. Don't buy the hype. Paulie would have knocked him out if he had the power. You'll see next week. He's going to hit the canvas.
Broner will take boxing seriously after Maidana humbles him.....I also see Broner getting added to the Glass Jaw nd Bambi legs list.
