Fighters who can constantly adapt to get the win

Ward has showed he can fight any style, and changes it often for different opponents. Hopkins does belong on this list be sure of that!

 

I agree. Froch has only one plan - if that fails he just forces the issue until it works. Not too intelligent but you've still got to give him credit.

Rigo seems to have some skills in that regard

Mickey Garcia possibly too from his last fight, early knock down, came back very well, patient etc

GGG but people said this was suspect in the Stevens fight, I thought he did a good job myself

 

Mayweather is the best of all time at reading and adapting!!!

 

Spinks was exceptional at formulating the right game plan for the right opponent, and could both box and slug depending on what the situation called for. I'm not sure how much adapting he did within fights, but he was the first who sprung to mind.

A less obvious pick is Lennox Lewis, who was able to adapt when in difficulty against Bruno, Mercer, Vitali and the second fight with Holyfield. When Michael Grant inexplicably came charging after him face first, Lewis composed himself, picked his punches, and wiped him out. He realised Akinwande couldn't cope with his physical strength, and what was expected to be a long range boxing match descended into a hugfest. It wasn't just a case of Akindwande choosing to clinch, he was forced to do so because he couldn't deal with Lewis up close.

 

As much respect as I have for Manny and his opinion, he's about the only person who would say that not named Calzaghe of course...

Most of the ATGs can adapt or fight in different styles, whether it be a drastically different style or a slightly different look.

 

Andre ward for sure! He's really good at adapting in the ring same goes for Mayweather!

 

Ali of course. As Larry Holmes said, Ali could always pull that rabbit out of the hat when he needed to.
