And FWIW the Murray fight mighta gone his way as well. He's had not really had the German decisions since Macklin.
That was a can go either way kinda fight in wich some scored it 7-5 Sturm and others 7-5 Mack. The RbR was really devided except on the part that it was a great fight.
I had him lose to Geale and Soliman. Murray was an easy win. Never understood how people saw that for Murray. I secretly suspect they mistake Murray for Macklin. Doh, not a secret anymore.
So in short the consensus seems to be a even kinda fight - but then that's what you get, Geale, Barker, Sturm, Mack, Murray, Soliman, Lee even - you got a lotta guys of very similar ability - currently Murrays performance 'gainst Sergio and Barkers win over Geale nudge them ahead, whilst Mack getting destroyed by GGG has dropped his stock, but there's a lotta good fights in there.
I guess. But all those guys you listed would also be destroyed my GGG, so Macklin is leading in the biggest balls category. :yep
Sturm was robbed of a win vs Murray due to what happened in the Macklin fight, judges too cautious not wanting to be seen scoring for the home fighter. Sturm himself has said he wouldn't have complained if the Macklin fight went against him, but believes he beat Geale, and doesn't understand how anyone could think Murray beat him. IMO Murray was well beat by Sturm, but I thought Geale edged it against him (could of gone either way) and same with the Macklin fight.
Sturm ONCE again is talking himself up, saying it's 'new', the best version ever. This is like the 4th time he's saying that, yawn.
That's the reason I secretly hope I picked the wrong guy tonight. We already know that Sturm is never going to step in the ring with Golovkin. But Barker might have the cojones to do so and hand GGG another belt and highlight reel KO.
