Possibly with adrenaline. I know a lad at the school i work at broke his pelvis at sports day but still finished the race 3rd .
I didn't think i'd sit here calling Darren Barker a world champion a while back after what he went through. I was so chuffed for him and still am. This hurts because i know he's better then that but small details and Sturm knows himself and doesn't give you easy work and that's what Darren did he gave Felix openings without him even creating them. Felix was clinical tonight!. Fighting away from home was always gonna be tough. But not that tough. As for Hearn well i think he will regret having this away no matter how much money they put on table. The big money fights with Murray and Macklin gone IMO. Barker will be finished. He was gonna retire before and with this injury he will..
These middleweights Sturm, Macklin, Barker, Geale are all so hot and cold, they either perform good or terrible thats why I couldnt bet on his fight
I agree with him when he says he has to look out for fighters financial welfare but in reality your right. He's now lost out on further earnings against Macklin and Murray. Although i kinda feel Eddie knew Barker wouldn't be champion for that long. This is why Frank didn't let his champions go abroad without a damn fight.
A boxing ring is the same wherever in the world you are. This bull**** about having the fight at home would have made no difference to the result. On the night, Sturm was too good. Anyone blaming Hearn is an absolute cretin.
Nah i don't buy that Solaris. I'm not saying it changes tonights result but it does make a difference to a fighters performance at times for various reasons. But i agree Sturm was the better man. But Barker i think was out of his element i think he couldn't believe Sturm's intensity and that's partly because the German crowd was awesome. Sturm fed of that!. But yeah Sturm was superior. As for Hearn being blamed he runs a business so he has to do best by him and fighter but in a way he may live to regret him accepting this fight away but hindsight is a wonderful thing. But i agree a rings a ring. A world champ should adapt like Froch has over the years..
Sturm was always all wrong for Darren. Barker is one of those jack of all trade types that he can neither put Sturm on the backfoot - like Macklin - nor does he have a thick enough coat to mix it from medium range like Martin Murray, and Sturm is just so metronomic and accurate that Barker just didn't have the tools to diffuse the German's weapons.
What did anyone think of Gallagher saying Beefy is ready for Rabchenko? Boxing well lately Liam and performed well tonight think Rabchenko fight at this stage is too soon?
