I underestimated Sturm quite a bit to be fair. He may not be ATG or anything near but he is a good fighter and deserves some respect. Good job, Felix!

 

Sturm has never held the Middleweight title. When he arrived on the scene Hopkins was champ, he lost that belt to Taylor, he lost in to Pavlik, he lost it to Sergio.

Strum did not beat Sergio.

It is weird that in boxing one guy has like 19 title defenses (larry Holmes) other wins title and then loses it and wins other and is considered 2-time world champ (witherspoon).

i think it should change we should call champions by their total championship fights like Joe Louis is 26-time world champion.

 

I have Sturm cracking my top-20 list of ATG's among SRR, Ali and other historical greats. He really needs 1-2 defenses before he can go to top-15 or top-10 of all time.

 

btw stylistically, Sturm would be a very bad match-up for any of the fab four.

 

I can't quite figure out why everyone is so hard on the guy. He's a decent titlist and a handsome devil, no homo.

 

I think boxing fans should make more of an effort to distinguish real title reigns from fractured ABC ones.
