Thrown with my left hand! Whether it's a jab, uppercut, hook - There's no snap/pop/power. With my right hand EVERY PUNCH is powerful. It seem like my left hand side belongs to a 13 year old kid and my right hand side belongs to Lennox Lewis! Any drills/tips/advice on how to make my left be on an equal footing with my right? I know we can all be stronger/more dominant on one side, but this is a joke now.
Cant wait for some replies. I have exactly the same problem! One thing i noticed the other day though, when i was on the bags.... one of the bags was pretty close to a wall, and so my feet were planted right up against the wall and couldn't move. From this position my left was a lot more snappy and it just came out a lot easier. In my case i am leaning towards it maybe being my foot position, or my distribution of weight meaning i am throwing just arm punches, but when my feet have a solid base the power comes from my body too. I am going to go back and try some different stances and see if that changes anything. I am ortho btw
Post a vid. You probably just don't get the body into the punch like you do on your strong side. Or you don't align your elbow. Or you don't whip your shoulder in. Or you don't land with your knuckles. Or you don't drop your weight into the punch. Or you throw from a bad position/range. Or you don't whip your opposite shoulder back. Could be a ton of things. Try not using your right. Throw a 16oz glove on your left and go to work on the heavybag. Do that maybe once a day for a couple rounds and your left will catch up.
I do not mean the frame, but the deltoid muscles they are resposible for the snapping of hooks and uppercut primarily for straight punches you need good obliques to drive your upperbody
I can only image n, havent seen you. Feet to wide, unbalanced to much on one foot, leaning, sounds a mechanical thing. What job you got, do any other sport.
Laborer. I do tend to try and put all my weight on my left, but even when I don't there's no difference. :? @ 4 - I do mate. :good
You are most likely an arm puncher since for many people who know how to use hip and twist the left hook is the most lethal
