Finally got to see this bout and Biggs really gave Bowe a good fight-he even managed to shake Bowe up at least on 2 occasions before being stopped in round 8.Anybody else ever see this bout?

Not since it happened. It was a good scalp for bowe. Biggs had ability but was matched prety hard after the Tyson fight and never got to recover. I remember his fight with garry mason, he gave mason a good fight but seemd to hit a wall when it was still anybodys fight. Biggs just floped down after a punch that didnt look much and wouldnt get up.

Yeah, I have it on VHS.

You pretty much summed it up: Biggs clearly staggered Bowe in the 1st or 2nd round, and generally gave him a good fight until Bowe overpowered him.

Good fight, I wish we'd see a good heavyweight fight like that in this day and age.....I have it on DVD in pretty good quality for it's age if anyone's interested.

Never saw this fight.. I read in the news shortly afterward though, that apparently Biggs got a bit too courageous for his own good, and probably should have played it safe by boxing and keeping his distance. I don't know if that coincides with what others have seen.

I believe the fight is on youtube. The staggering of Bowe was more the result of Bowe clowning after Biggs landed a good righthand in the second. Bowe stuck his chin out and got wacked by a lefthook, but wasnt badly hurt but did wobble. Biggs was no slouch, he had problems with cuts, which hurt him in a few of his higher profile fights, not to mention his cocaine problems.

Anybody not seen a good heavyweight scrap for a while should watch this fight and appreciate how good these guys were...Tyrell lacked power against the top guys...despite alot of criticism of him i think he performed with great credit against Bowe in particular..he found himself in a hell of an era.

What a fight. You're right, you never see two good specimin of heavyweights battle it out like that. Instead you get a fat gut, clinching, leaning, becoming so tired that you feel embarrassed of the sport you stayed up late to watch.

I find Tyrell Biggs interesting and also quite sad. He sure can move for a big guy. Feels like he had the skills but was rushed, into a road block that was Tyson. Being fed to young, hungry, hard hitting heavyweights straight after didn't help.

Do you feel Biggs could've been a champ and had a decent career if he were managed better, and what if he was fighting today?

This was a good fight I've watched it about 5-6 times over the last year or two. Biggs fought very well and showed that he did have skill giving a prime Big Daddy Bowe a very tough fight.

My opinion on Biggs is that he was very good but likely ****ed up his career with drugs and also by being matched so tough, still I think if he stayed on the straight and narrow he could've done a lot better, the lifestyle of a boxer is so important to their success.

In my opinion, this fight is a reason why Bowe never fought Lennox Lewis.

Bowe always had problems with movers. If Biggs had been more durable, the outcome could have been quite interesting.

Glad you all appreciate the fight...Brownbomber i studied Tyrells career at length i am a huge fan..he was rushed but there were reasons...they took the tyson fight for the money as they were worried he may mess up against a lesser fighter for low money...he had his struggles v simm and bey.
Ty lacked self belief basically too nice a guy for the job..watch round one versus tyson he boxed beautifully until 21 seconds from the end of the round they clinch and Ty is smiling then Tyson elbows him in the mouth and splits his lower lip...the confidence fell out of Tyrell at that moment...you can actually see it...
Should never have fought damiani next in milan..crazy fight to take then after the Mason fight which he should have had the ability to win he was struggling with alchohol.
The Bowe fight was his last big chance but showed he just lacked power and stamina at highest level...his next effort v Lewis was poor...he gradually went downhill from there and didnt look after his money either.
A top bloke though..back in Philly now helping train young boxers though he has no official job and doesnt seem to have much security to show for winning olympic gold and facing all those top fighters.

I always thought he started well against Tyson. The way he stuck out the jab, he was so much bigger than Tyson I think at the time you would've questioned Tyson could beat him. The closest we'd get to any Ali-Tyson anyway...
    Have you guys seen this
