It was really a great series of matchups. All the fights that went to the scorecards were close, and there is only one clear win in the entire rivalry, but it really was a joy to watch this last decade.

So my question, is. Where does it rank among your personal favorite rivalries? Where rivalry does it rank in front of, and what what rivalry does it rank in back of?

    Discuss.

    Pretty high

    Absolutely quality boxing

No holding no nothing. Just pure boxing every single round at a high pace.

    1 & 2 were immense

    3 - JMM got robbed

4 - Pacquiao was killing him intill JMM pulled out without doubt the greatest punch of his career.

entertainment wise I rate it all the way up with Ali Frazier, out of ring antics and story isn't really there though like Ali Frazier

It's really all personal opinion. Some will have Gatti Ward #1 easily... but I have that only maybe #3.

Its my favorite Rivalry of them all. Used to be Ali vs Frazier but Frazier lost last bout, I always go for the underdog in fights (even against floyd) & this win was incredible in terms of shocking the boxing world.

Let's see off the top of my head you have:

    Gatti-Ward
    Bowe - Holyfield
    Ali-Frazier
    Pac-JMM
    Duran - De Jesus
    Ali-Norton

Talant wise Gatti-ward is probably at the lowest level, but I think it was the best of these in terms of entertainment. In terms of single fights I'd probably go with Ali-Frazier III. In terms of importance Ali-Frazier I

Not forgetting barrera v morales and vasquez v marquez.......

I would say Pac v Marquez is up there at no.2 (after Ali Frazer), but having watched it all unfold over the last decade it's been an epic quadroligy with lots of great boxing, tense action and a hell of an exclamation mark at the end.
1 & 2 were sure fire classics. Results were controversial either way.
3 was a damned fine, agressive chess-match; marred only by a disappointing decision.
4 was a shootout with an almighty climax.

Great stuff. Will be talked about for years to come. I feel priveleged to have seen it unfold live.

    Freaking high man.
Top 5 of all time for me with Barrera-Morales, Ali-Foreman, SRL-Duran and Gatti-Ward.
I would put Hagler-Hearns there too but it was just a single match-up.
