What criteria are you using to rank Liston so high and over the likes of Louis of all people. Not knocking your list, I am genuinely intrigued.

I rank based mostly on resume, (so quality of opposition beaten is far and away my top consideration) followed by achievements, (such as a long time spent holding the title, multiple reigns, etc.) and then at the end my perception of how fighters would do in a H2H basis, although this has by far the lowest consideration.

I also don't rank anyone that doesn't have extensive video footage of them, which means certain old timers get squeezed. They were great fighters and all, but sorry, I'm not including anything I can't see for myself as proof.

The bottom half or so of my list changes often, but it would go something like this:

    1. Ali
    2. Louis
    3. Holmes
    4. Foreman
    5. Lewis
    6. Marciano
    7. Holyfield
    8. Tyson
    9. Frazier
    10. Liston

Honorable mentions for Dempsey, Johnson, Patterson, Wlad.

    That is my take.

Let Louis and Ali flip a coin for the No1 slot, then try to work out who the hell is No3.

Sullivan, Jeffries, Johnson, Dempsey, Marciano, Foreman, Holmes, Tyson, Lewis are all plausible picks for the No3 slot IMHO.

The real question is "who is No3".

I don't think there is a clear cut #1. I say Ali because he beat the best completion. I also think the difference between #3 and say #7 is razor thin.

Here's a head to head list for today using 15 rounds.

    Ali
    Holmes
    Lewis
    Jeffries
    Louis
    Liston
    V. Klitschko
    Foreman
    Dempsey
    W. Klitschko

Jack Johnson for becoming the first blac man to win the title in an era when you couldnt fight for the title if you were black

#2 I'd like to say George Foreman but he lost to Ali so I'm going to say Jim Jeffries on account of his big wins

#3 you have to give it to Ali becuz he beat Foreman

#4 to Big Daddy Bowe based on sheer talent (he had it all) and becuz he was so bitchin and cuz he won the trilogy between himself and Holyfield :D

#5 Jack Dempsey, who savagery made him nearly the irrisistable force

    # 6 George Foreman (on a good day he might whip them all)

    #7 Larry Holmes

    #8 Joe louis

    #9 Lennox Lewis

    #10 Mike Tyson

1 and 2 - Ali and Louis (interchangable but have to be #1 and #2)

3 + is take your pick.
