Usually when fighter A wins versus fighter B it proves that fighter A is the better fighter or that he has a style that's suited to beating fighter B.

What could Jones winning VS Silva or vice versa prove?

I don't think that size will play a part here seeing as these men are roughly the same weight so that excuse is off the table.

If Silva wins could that then mean that Silva simply has a style that's guarantees him a win VS Roy Jones, no this would not apply, there is no style that can beat Roy's technique.

Both men are somewhat over the hill, but Roy Jones is considerably further over that hill than Silva is, Roy recently went 10 rounds VS Denis Lebedev however and that sorta proves that Roy Jones is still somewhat of a solid boxer. We can't however forget what happened VS Danny Green but Danny of course is far from being the worlds toughest fighter.

If Roy Jones win then it will basically prove nothing since Anderson Silva isn't a professional boxer and has never competed as one. It will only prove that Silva wasn't able to make the transition to boxing for one fight at this late stage in this career.

If Silva wins then he basically proves that he's able to defeat good boxers and shows that he could potentially have had a somewhat successful career boxing.

Not the worlds most exciting fight to watch really but I caught it live on TV I'd certainly keep it on. It will if it happens that is probably be a fight that's over within 4-5 rounds either way it goes.

I'll go ahead and pick Roy Jones as the winner of this fight but if the fight goes the other way then it would not surprise me all that much.

Anderson Silva is not over the hill. Just because he got caught and lost one fight doesn't mean he lost it. Also Anderson Silva has competed in three boxing fights. So, he could be considered a boxer too.

It's pointless. Silva would probably beat Roy in a boxing match at this point, even. Roy is absolutely finished.

What will it prove? That Anderson should stick to the cage, cuz even a shot Roy Jones will flatten him in a boxing match.

Silva lasting anymore than 180 seconds would just be a measuring stick as to how far gone Roy is.

    It proves literally nothing.

Silva ruins him inside the cage.

Roy spanks Silva should it happen in the ring.

I thought if this was ever going to get off the ground that it would be an MMA fight...I don't think the UFC will be staging boxing exhibitions...

Who cares? Why does every fight have to prove something. It will prove that they wanted to fight each other.
