Cotto vs. Margarito

I think he's referring to when Mosley had Cotto backing up in the 9th. Mosley slipped on something and the ref stopped the action. Anyway, this is a fight Cotto should win. As long as he doesn't get trapped on the ropes or try to exchange with Margo, he'll win.

 

Cotto.. I think it would be a good fight but Margo will just come out swingin' and Cotto would catch him..

 

All he has to do is beat Margo to the punch. He can easily do this, Margarito will still look slow next to Cotto. Margo throws a lot of punches that means he is open to a lot of punches, and Cotto's short compact accurate as **** punches will be like Kryptonite to Margarito's high output style. I honestly think that Margarito's style is to Cintron what Cotto's style will be to Margarito. I think Cotto will make Margarito his ***** the same way. That may seem extreme but I think Cotto is that good.

Mosley stopped himself and complained about the wet spot to the ref.

 

Margarito just too much and too big. I think his power and his durability force Cotto to fight going backwards. And when that happens Cotto's power diminishes greatly (which is why he didn't trouble Shane). And if Margo reduces him to a retreating, defensive boxer I think he easily beats him by stoppage. Margo is much better at the ropes game than someone like Abdulaev or Torres.

But Margo HAS to start fast and furious. If he doesn't I can see Cotto pushing forward and making the fight. The fight imo is going to be decided in those first four rounds.

 

I never said the ref saved him. I just merely pointed out that that was probably what the other poster was talking about when he said the ref saved Cotto.

 

I disagree, I've seen him KO a guy while laying on the ropes. He knocked down Gomez with a jab while going backwards.

Cotto by wide UD. I'd be shocked if Margo won any more than 3 rounds to be honest. Cotto is simply in another class. He will show his boxing skills against Margo and Margo will be fusstrated by his movement.

 

Gomez was already gone from the body shot that dropped him earlier. The other knockout I can't say I remember who that was.
