I have to disagree NoNeck. Roy was a little green at MW and you seem to be underrating Hearns, who was a great boxer, a huge puncher and not nearly so glass jawed as many think. I'd rate him higher than the MW version of Hopkins that Roy fought. For what it's worth, I reckon RJJ takes it more often than not, and inside the distance, but no way this is an easy fight.
No, not an easy fight. That's just ridiculous. I just don't think Hearns has all the answers for what Roy does. On the contrary, Hopkins was doing very nice work in close on Roy and really making him uncomfortable, until Roy started using the jab and working the body. When he chose to, he was a brutal body puncher. You can see him stop Hopkins in his tracks in the 5th or 6th with a combo to the body. Even Poker Face Hopkins couldn't hide the hurt. My point being that Roy adjusted from what wasn't working to what did work. He was able to find the answers to different styles.
To actually expect Hearns to win is a huge stretch. "It would be competitive and if Hearns blah blah blah..." is much more within reason than actually thinking Hearns would probably win before the bell sounded.
