guy in blue...needs to stop balling up on defense and blinding himself. he takes his eyes off his opponent on defense and that could spell disaster against a more experienced boxer. he could benefit from sitting on the back foot once in a while defensively. he throws nice straight punches but is a bit predictable. he also needs to learn to cut the ring. guy in red...uses good lateral movement but bounces around a little too much for my liking. he's a little too wide with his punches and his head is dead center with every punch he throws. he would do well by sitting on his punches and throwing some straight punches before the wide hooks and over hand rights. he is good about stepping around his opponent after he throws a combination but is bad about ending up in the corners. he would do well by keeping the fight in the center of the ring. both guys were equally matched and put forth a great effort. both had counter punching opportunities but didn't take them. they were either on defense...or on offense and didn't try to disrupt each others attacks very much. i would guess that both are novice boxers that will grow in time. i thought the red corner won so i agree with the decision. thanks for sharing.
Thanks, much appreciated. I thought the cleaner work came from blue but he was heavily outworked, landed a lot of straight rights to the body but in 3 round amateur fights probably not the best shot to depend on.
Just told him i'd take a look at it and see if I could spot much that he could exploit, they rematch this sunday. I noticed the slapping punches and bouncing but his head staying still when he threw is something I missed, he reminds me almost of a bad lazy margarito definitely need to work on closing the ring off and his feet
tell your friend to keep his eyes forward as he's blocking those looping shots and shoot some counters straight towards the head. he won't miss. the counter right should do some damage if he can catch that hook and shoot the cross immediately. a few more hooks to the body after the headshots should slow some of his foot movement. good luck!
