Would you have preferred they keep putting him up against nobodies? Besides it wasn't his handlers, Broner's own ****iness got to his head and he asked the fans who they wanted him to fight and they picked Maidana. Now me and the fans are celebrating tonight :happy:happy:happy

Perhaps a combination of both? Either way:

I do almost feel sorry for him

I think they saw Alexander vs. Maidana and thought Broner could do the same. On paper this looked like a winnable fight for "the Problem" and most people thought he would cruise to a UD. But Maidana seems to have acclitamized to welter since the Alexander fight and Broner did not move his feet like he needed to.

Gavin Rees, PDL and Paulie Malignaggi aren't nobodies, but the difference in strength and power is quite substantial to that of Maidana

You can push around Eloy Perez and Martin Rodriguez, but Marcos Rene Maidana is about 10 levels above

But like I said pre-fight, Broner and Alexander fight nothing alike

I like Maidana with Garcia, the first knockdown was case in point. The old Maidana wouldn't of varied his attack like that.

He did vs Kotelnik, also used pull counters to good effect too

don't get me wrong, Garcia is good for Maidana, but he shouldn't get credit for teaching Marcos techniques Marcos already knows, only for teaching him how to apply them better

Got news for you, over the history of boxing, punchers often beat up boxers. Don't know where this recent myth came from that a boxer will always win.
Frazier beat up on Ali for 15 rounds in their first fight. Basilio beat Robinson. Marciano beat Walcott.

The hair brushing pretty much saying that he deserved the brush for a hell of a fight.

Your right, he did. Maybe I was selling him a bit short. Great to see him get the win

Regardless of what happened, PROPS to Broner for even taking the fight in the first place. He may act like a ****ing clown pretty much all of the time but he could have so easily avoided Maidana at this stage of his career. I've never liked Broner and am still kind of happy that he got beat but it ain't healthy to kick a man when he's down.
