Now way was this a clear win for Mayweather but then again Oscar was never able to get a decision against the best eventhough he performed great (Against Trinidad,or Mosely). He had to at least have knocked down Mayweather twice for him to get the victory and that is near to impossible! Despite it all the fight was definitely closer than a lot that posters here have it for Mayweather. I wouldn't have been surprised if Oscar won or got a draw. It was that close IMO

Nope. It was close enough to give Oscar rooters and Floyd haters ammunition to say he'd nicked it, but honestly...using appropriate scoring criteria and the 10-point must system...no.

    Close but clear for Mayweather.

It was a competitive fight with one man just barely outlanding the other each round.

Clear Gayweather victory but it was not exactly dominating in strictest sense. However, *****s would argue hat since it was 8-4 in rounds won, it was dominating, just like the Cotto fight. They are of course dumb. OUTPOINTED would be the proper term.

DLH lost many rounds down the stretch.. You don't win fights by fading down the stretch!!

Only a debate because a lot of fight fans are gay for Oscar. The fight wasn't even close.

Oscar was knocking Void's head back over and over again, Oscar won that fight but Void's judges gave a close split decision to Void. Pac stopped Oscar!!!

I hate Floyd, but I gave him like, the last 4 rounds. Oscar stopped jabbing. Oscar DEF lost this fight. If you had him ahead, well, you are ******ed.

Having watched it three times, I still gave Oscar 2,3,4 6,7 and 8 (a draw).

However, Floyd's rounds were more decisive.

So all in all, the SD seems like a fair result.

I watched the fight (without the sound to keep the commentary from influencing me) and I scored the fight 117-111 for Oscar. This fight was not fun to watch and the reason is Floyd Mayweather. He did nothing to force the fight. Like De La Hoya said in the post fight interview, if he hadn't forced the fight, there would have been no fight. One of the criteria for judging a fight is aggressiveness. Neither of them landed a lot of significant punches and there was more feinting and moving and staring at one another than actual punching going on. Of that little activity, De La Hoya landed the better shots and made the fight somewhat of a fight and let's not forget here. Oscar was the champion at the time and a challenger is supposed to beat the champion to take his title. Mayweather did not do that at all. He hung back, moved backward for much of the fight and with the exception of a few clean right hands, did very little to show he even wanted the decision. 8-4 or 9-3 for Mayweather? Did you even watch the fight at all? What were the big rounds he won? The last four? I don't think so. Oscar's aggression won the last round in my opinion where he landed some solid shots near the end. The public lost with this fight as it typically does in any big fight situation but it was not Oscar's fault. Even Floyd's dad said he lost if you go by the points system which they were using of course. If you scored the fight for Mayweather, what is your criteria for scoring? Moving away? Backing up? Throwing like 30 punches a round? How is that supposed to win a fight, let alone a world title?
