The card could have actually been semi decent had they shown the right fights, talking the Boylan Owen fight off TV was stupid, they went with the big names one sided fights policy, Murray, Mitchell, McDonnell and Smith fights were all very very poor. The Goodjon fight was good as was Purdy vs Bundu had they shown the fight rights it would have been an ok card. Instead it was 6 hours of **** with 2 decent fights and only one real good fight.

Originally I thought this was gonna be complete crap,Joshua not being on the bill for a start. But I admit to not knowing Connor or the lad who beat him{forgot his name, memory is ****}But that was a great little scrap, worthy of top of the bill in a smaller venue. The kid who fought Jamie was decent, probably a good thing Yafai didn't fight him when it was made, but one for the future.Shame Mitchell didn't get the original, but not too bad a replacement,Mitchell did well.
The boxnation stuff was good.Buncey played a blinder as usual, aided by some good guests.Thurman was terrific,Broner got a defeat in spite of the help he got from his mate the ref.Good night,I thought.

Sorry, thats his name.Goodjon.As you say, maybe could be better if they picked better fights. The lad put up a show against Paul Smith but we could have done without that one,I think.Agree Purdy/Bundu was good, want to see him again.

Ok i understand Billy, but Hearns shows could be better if he stopped being a tight wad and loosened his purse strings and spent some of his big Sky money because at the end of the day it's US THE FANS who are being shortchanged.

They could have made two half-decent cards out of last night but instead stuck it all together. Why they go with these six hour marathons I'll never know; some of the fights have almost as many in the ring as watching.

Having been to Maloney, ****** and Hearn cards.

I have to say that the Hearn ones have been the most poorly organised.

Eddie Hearn is still IMO "the saviour of British boxing", a dull undercard is sadly par for the course on domestic / euro level shows, the budget does not stretch that far for a small hall show, I would imagine Eddie and MR took a loss on the last one with the names he had out.

Eddie is doing business in the most simple way, he's getting his guys out. The other top British promoters cannot get their guys out, let alone secure big fights.

Match Room promotions are bringing attention to British boxing domestically and they are getting key exposure for all their fighters, Hearn is a good boxing promoter, he has his guys fighting regularly and makes big fights as often as financially possible.

In todays boxing promoting, that is all you can ask.

I remember watching Pricey in the Aintree equestrian centre and nobody knew where to sit as the seats were labelled up wrong and all the meat heads doing security went into melt down because they had to engage normal people who don't take steroids and shag little boys :thumbsup people just sat where they could park their arse and it caused uproar

Match room are an astoundingly organised bunch in comparison with the rest

He's not going to please everyone, he's succeeding where Frank has failed, and that is to simply keep his stable active.

FYI Lee Purdy went in a betting under dog in the shows head liner :think

Whats Frank got to do with it? But since you brought him up he has got the likes of Chisora 3 fights in 5 months and his stable isn't that big just now so he seems to be getting them out ok. As for Purdy he would go in a betting underdog every time he stepped above British level, but it just shows you Hearns lack of depth on the card when he has got Purdy headlining. Also Frank brought over boxings danger man Kovalev for his Champion Cleverly in August and that's ballsy promoting.
