They both weighed around 160 on fight night as the commentators mentioned during the fight. There was 2-3 pounds difference. I didn't see anyman looking significantly bigger or smaller on the night and the weights prove this.

Agreed, it didn't look like there was much different on fight night between them size wise.

Compared to Broner's past Opponents , the strength and weight of maidana was something that made Broner look tiny when hes getting manhandled across the ring.

That's a hyperbole for sure. He looked a bit skinny and honestly, I'm not sure if 147 is the right division for him. He wasn't as fast, his punches lacked power - he had virtually no advantage over Maidana. Better get down to a division where he's got at least some advantages over the title contenders.

He did look a few inches shorter, though I don't know the height #s, and they're almost always skewed.

But he doesnt usually have any real height advantage over guys. He's a stout lil focker....

Broner was defo the more muscular fighter in there. He "LOOKED" the stronger fighter.....obviously he wasnt.

Same size in height , weight , all dimensions the same except for their balls!!!

I don't think Broner was lacking in balls to be fair,Ray.He did look incredibly humbled after the fight, though, which was great to see.Going back to the size thing,it seems people always assume the boxer moving up in weight is the smaller man.I remember Boxing News and others saying Barrera was the smaller man against Hamed, but the only things appearing bigger to me were Hameds arse, and his mouth.

I think boxers that have both more power and a better work rate than Broner will always pretty much beat him. His work rate just isn't good enough and if he can't consistently hurt his opponent he will struggle to earn the win. Him and Maidana looked a similar size however he is definitely going to need to go down in weight where his punches will have more effect. He looks too big for 135 so should probably be at 140 but I doubt his power would trouble the best 140 pounders so he's probably got his work cut out.

Broner 156, Maidana 161. About an inch difference in height.

It just looked kind of weird because we're used to Broner dwarfing his opponents. Keep in mind that his two welterweight fights were against guys who are kind of small for the division. If Broner can make 140, that'd be about perfect for him since he could still rehydrate to 156. He was rehydrating over 14lb at 130, so 140 shouldn't be a huge deal.

The issue is he'd have to fight Garcia, Matthysse, or even Provodnikov. I bet the next fight is Peterson for a title at 140. 4-time champ in 4 different weight classes. Greatness.

They were basically the same size. A 1/2 inch here or there in height or reach.

At LW Broner had a tremendous size advantage. When he moved up to WW, he lost that. But when he fought Paulie, he wasn't fighting a guy who possesses the power of a true WW. Maidana does. It was the power, more than the size, which are intertwined, of course, but having one does not necessarily mean having the other.

You take the same 2 guys at 140, is the result gonna be any different?

He looked the same size as maidana. Some people are just shocked to see him against someone his own size rather than a midget he has a massive size advantage over. Broner is a natural 140 or 147.

Broner was 4pound lighter. Not Maidana's fault, who wasn't that ripped.

Good on Broner for at least giving 147 a crack.

Now Broner is done and dusted, let's move onto calling for Floyd and Ward to move up in weight so we can all feel better when they get beaten - knowing it's probably the only thing that can beat either of them.
