George Groves is still hoping Carl Froch will give him a rematch, after the controversial stoppage. After dropping Froch heavily in the first round, Groves dominated most of the fight until he was hurt in the ninth, but the referee Howard Foster jumped in and grabbed Groves in a headlock and stopped the fight before there could be a conclusive finish.

Groves said: "My thoughts haven't changed. I should be the Champion right now. I had it taken away from me unjustly. I'm in the process of sorting that out. Iv'e made it very clear i want a rematch. If Froch is a man then i'm sure he will step up and give me a rematch.

It's the biggest fight out there for him. Commercially, financially he is no where near going to touch those aspects of his boxing life unless he fights me in a rematch. It could be the biggest British fight of all time. What sort of fighting man would not want to be a part of that and that history".

If the rematch does happen I swear Froch will say something like this in the build up.....with a completely straight face

" I decided to give Groves the rematch because all of my fans around the world are demanding that I have the chance to finish Groves properly.......last time out the ref put a dampener on my world class performance ..."

Froch is becoming an expert at snatching defeat from the jaws of defeat :) I feel a bit sorry for him because he's come out the whole thing looking like c0ck, which is a shame because although he might well be a c0ck, it wouldn't have become apparent had he fought anyone but Groves.

I was gutted at the result as I had a massive bet on Groves. 15 quid I'll never see again.

That would likely happen and Sky must realise it. If i was Hearn i would drag Froch into the ring by the short and curly's, kicking and screaming :bbb

to be fair, this could well be true, just as equally that GG was ok to continue. You cant say for certain that he wasn't or was about to get KOed.

so its fair enough to say either one of these things, and you an hardly expect him to say 'just to see groves outpoint me'.
If you do expect a boxer to say that, then you are watching the wrong sport.

If froch had been more gracious and told the truth after the fight he would actually be coming out with some credit.

Regardless of what anyone says it was a great fight and good performances from both for different reasons.
