You can only improve on power soo much. Guys like Haye and Naz were hitting hard from their first fight.

Gavin would beat that guy Leonard Bundu, who Purdy gave a heart attack last week. And Gavin would beat Senchenko as well so he's better than Euro level.

At 28 Gavin has found his man strength so he isn't going to get any stronger in that respect, but he can improve his power all right. The thing is Gavin would need to sit down on his punches more, but that's likely to affect his style and it's his style just now that makes him good. Gavin is above Euro level IMO, but stepping him up to that level will tell us how he will get on in the late rounds. As you seen for yourself tonight Pryce came on strong in the last 2 rounds by putting him under pressure.

This is how underrated Marcos Maidana is, that someone thinks Frankie Gavin would beat him. Gavin hasn't fought someone who apply s pressure with brutal power like Chino. Unless he held all night he would get brutally stopped. Its all about levels.

Nothing mate. mark my words. Frankie Gavin is a classy operator whether you find his style exciting or not. He is clearly class if you cant see that I guess you have been supping on something.

Tell me how he can not beat the 3 mentioned?

He would counter every attack that any of these had to throw. He works to an inch punches thrown at him miss by an inch the way he slips a punch and counters, his foot work. okay people say he has no power but neither does Paulie and many other champs from the past.

Only watched Gavin sporadically & I agree he doesn't punch with no spite or viciousness to trouble the world tier fighters. Could be a Darren Barker sought of fighter at best but I hate to say I don't see him above European level.
Good luck though and I hope he proves me wrong

It must be pointed out that Pryce is a tough nut...

Still, it was obvious Frankie was dumping snowflakes on him. Pryce seemed a bit incredulous at times, like "wait...that was your power shot? That wasn't a range-finding jab? I saw it coming and everything (being that my reflexes aren't up to doing anything about it even when I do see 'em) and could swear that looked to be a full-on power shot. :blood Have I gone punchy overnight?"

Probably so.But a lot of us Im sure would like to see him prove it.He said he wants to fight in March so I reckon the logical one is a challenge for Bundus European title.A win there would put him on the fringes of a world title fight at least, provided it was convincing enough. Its interesting that they mention Khan instead. It looks to me like they think he's gone backwards enough to be taken. The Brook camp have the same attitude.Mention of Bradley, even Maidana might be premature.Compare Franks opponents to Bradleys, and they're about the same age.But if Frank is active, next year could be a big one for him.

Frankie does not seem to have great punch power, partially to do with the way he is already waiting to slip any counters, so he isn't sitting down on his punches. HOWEVER he has the best boxing brain of any British fighter and the skills to match. Unfortunately for Gavin, he is fighting in the hottest division around.

People point to Malignaggi lacking the pop at the highest level but still managing to be a world champion, but he is a volume puncher with a very good chin. Questions remains over gavins chin as it has not been tested and because he is not as busy as Paulie, it is difficult for him to win rounds at the highest level (in the eyes of some judges) when boxing technically on the back foot.

That being said, it seems Gavin gets better as the level steps up. He school Vassell, would destroy Purdy and I believe he would beat Khan. Post Mayweather, Khan would be the perfect fight. Gavins lateral movement and counter punching would give Khan fits. Going on from there, a come forward pressure fighter would be perfect for Gavin so he could give Maidana a good test. Can he mix it would the top welterweights who have power, speed and technique? Bradley is a difficult fight as he is a spoiler and Gavin may not have the power to keep him off. He could be shop worn post Ruslan however.

People can speculate but no one knows until he steps up

Frankie is 28 and not a big ticket seller and is a tricky opponent. The "who needs him" club has a table reserved for Frank.

Gavin isn't world class! He's got good footwork that's it. Pryce could of beat him if he started how he fininshed walking him down 11-12th.

I agree no one will be putting him down on their lists to fight very tricky customer.

It is about levels he needs to be stepped up now ASAP no more hanging around.I think he will look better against better opponents technically very, very good.
