Rewatched the Groves Froch fight again today. First thing I noticed was Froch was hitting on and after the break throughout the fight and should have had a point taken. But the main thing I noticed was FRoch body language at the stoppage. When Foster jumps in FRoch for a few seconds seems unsure what has happened. It was not the reaction of a fighter who thought he was a punch or 2 of scoring a stoppage. Froch seemed as supprised as everybody else . Also stright away Groves could answer back to the ref and was on steady legs as he walked around the ring straight after.
Yep. And also his eyes took a second to focus (after his head came up) and realize it was Foster stopping it. As for Froch's body language it seemed normal to me. He wasn't sure what Foster was doing as he didn't jump in he grabbed Groves as Groves tried to stagger away from that exchange.
I used to really respect Froch for fighting anybody, but after the Groves fight I no longer like him at all. Groves deserves a rematch...............what is Froch so afraid of?
The stoppage gets worse every time i see it. Groves was tired and ragged, but no more than Froch as he looked out on his feet himself when Foster jumped in prematurely. The thing is it was more of Froch's physicality than anything else because he blatantly runs and charges into Groves a couple of times in that round. Even at the end Groves was on the ropes because Froch had ran and barged into him knocking him off balance where he could get his shots off, but Groves was still fighting back and trying to defend himself. It was stopped far too early from Foster. You can see it for yourself Froch looked shocked when the ref had stopped it and him and his teams celebration was more of relief than joy.
