I think Murray would get badly beaten By Burns.. I would even go as far as saying it would be a complete shutout to Burns....

    I really don't.

Burns had his jaw broken because he ****-poor defense was exposed by Beltran. It's churlish, childish and ridiculous to suggest that without that injury Burns would have demolished Beltran as there is simply no evidence to suggest he would have.

You use your opinion to justify your arguments, whereas I prefer facts. Slight difference Billy.

Go and ask any and I mean any sparring partner Ricky's had and ask if he has a **** poor defence, just look at his features he's unmarked you idiot coz his defence is so good, Ricky said himself the shot that done it was a nothing shot he prob had his mouth open when he got hit:patsch
the fact is Ricky could hardly miss Beltran in the first two rounds(fact) and would have went on to beat him up basically

Do yourself a favour and rewatch the Gonzalez fight Billy. Burns was being tagged will by Gonzalez. Nobody on here rates Burns defensively other than you.

You can do your best to try and rewrite history, but it won't work.

Silly silly thread.. It's funny how certain people give massive credit to Froch for his victories but the Burns v Gonzales is over looked. Let's be straight here Ricky was being beat by a superior boxer. Gonzales is a special talent, what Burns done to turn that round is remarkable. I think Burns may have under performed that night but still I don't think there is much he would of been able to do to combat a very very good Gonzales. What I would say is Burn broke the guys heart and what a show of courage to do that. A true mark of a champion. The Beltran fight was close.. He may have lost but only by a round or 2 at the most and there was tight rounds. He is still world champion and like Billy said judgement will be on the Crawford fight. Billy heads up though you can't really win in that fight!! Burns wins then Crawford is a Hype job then if he loses he's finished. Too many narrow minded people

Hit the nail on the head mate, was thinking the same thing as i was reading some of the crap in this thread.

Ricky gets barely any credit for the Gonzales win, in all fairness he was getting beat but showed the heart and strength of character to stick in and when it came to the crunch he delivered......broke Gonzales's heart and will to fight, if he didnt quit it was most likely going to be a stoppage win for Ricky.

Froch gets all the credit in the world for knocking out Jermain Taylor with barely anytime left, despite the fact he was losing the fight big time, and he should get the credit and at the same time so should Ricky.

The Beltran fight to be fair was an iffy call but again not Rickys fault, he isnt the judge! To fight with broken jaw takes balls and courage!! For that alone he should be applauded.

Both those fighters were awkward guys, tough to look good against but hopefully he will be fully recovered and back on form for Crawford.

Like you say though he will probably get no credit from some of the twats here if he wins.
