He was in a hurry to get over and see what Larry and Jim were talkin about.:rofl But in seriousness I know that's not funny at all, Cintron deserved better.

the only guy he has is vlad, but seriously he's just lucky though the HW division is crap right now, he gets all the **** because of vlad but honestly vlad would be better with other trainers

JT has the tools/skills to become a great fighter and a future ATG. The move he did was right, he definitely needs a better trainer..

heres the thing he was fighting antonio friggin margarito, its almost impssible to stay at a distance against a big guy throwing non stop, it looked like to me steward had no game plan set for kermit, they did not have a plan a let alone a plan b.

kermit cintron is just a basic 1-2 puncher, he needs roach, dan birmingham or maybe even ronnie shields.

The all-around disrespect in this topic is amazing. Manny Steward was a **** trainer, Hearns was 'usually knocked out cold'...I won't join in on disgracing legends of the sport due to one loss.

This is the world level, and these people are without exception special. If you knew the hard work and dedication that comes with a world title fight you wouldn't ciriticize these men so harshly.

Cintron and Stewart went after their black mark -- gave it their all -- and lost completely. It happens. Credit them for having the spirit that is currently so absent in this sport.

    one loss?

jermain taylor, kermit cintron, vivian harris, andy lee?

it seemed like steward ddn't even care about cintron, he was telling him not to back up!:patsch

and after a devestating ko like that he should have been backstage with his fighter.

Strictly, going by numbers-Steward is the greatest trainer of all-time-who was has been in the corner of more champs amateur or pro?.Anybody, who's been around boxing long enough loses sooner or later;that includes fighters, trainers or just people exchanging opinions regarding who will win an upcoming fight.

Do you consider Steward a great trainer TODAY? All of the Steward backers always talk about his distant past. Well, that was then, this is now. It's a "what have you done for me lately" world. And lately, Steward not only sounds like a fool when he's commentating on HBO, but his fighters seem to always "not listen" and lose. I mean how long can his backers use that lame excuse that his fighters aren't listening? Could it possibly have anything to do with Steward's lack of ability to garner respect from his fighters?

It's time for him to hang it up.

I know. It bothered me that Steward was doing commentating right after his fighter lost. He seemed like nothing happened and had a stupid looking smile on his face. It's as if he no longer cares whether his fighter's win or loses. Maybe he thinks that he's above criticism and that if he teaches a fighter what he knows, that's good enough. Forget the fact that he told Cintron not to back up for the first few rounds and only when it became blatantly obvious that Cintron should leave some room between him and Marg, he tells Cintron to box him. Another classic example of Steward not really having a game plan and telling his fighter to swtich plans only after the OBVIOUS happens. I mean does this guy even break down his fighter's opponents or what? Or does he just get by on his "legendary trainer" status and think that he is a God or something?

Steward is as good a trainer as anyone else. Honestly, I think Steward probably told Cintron not to take this fight. But Cintron insisted so Steward obliged and trained him. There are fights that trainers know their fighters can't win. It's not the best attitude or approach to have in boxing, but I think we can all admit that really does happen. I mean honestly, (example) if Wladimir were to drop Steward, and Calvin Brock then hires Steward to help him train for a Wlad rematch, do you really think the fight will turn out differently? Answer : Hell no. Do you think Steward knows this? Answer: Hell yes. Will Steward still agree to train Brock for $$? Answer: Of course.

Manny given bad advice to other fighters as well.

In a true "Doh!" moment during the Pavlik-Taylor I fight Manny told Taylor something along the effect that Pavlik wasn't used to fighting at that pace and was getting tired. The only thing I could think of is that Steward never bothered to actually watch any of Pavlik's previous fights ( or read about them or ask anyone for a one sentence description about the type of fighter Pavlik is ) before training his fighter to face him.

I, so remember that comment it's not even funny. I was left :huh. Really, anytime Steward has something to say, i simply go with the opposite because what he saids is usually the opposite of reality.

Steward in the PBF/Hatton fight. First 5 or 6 rounds he's talking about how this is Hatton's type of fight while completely ignoring the crisp right hand leads and left hooks that PBF has been landing since round one. Only until Hatton is getting tagged more regularly later in the fight does he say something like, "Hatton needs to move his head more".

    WHAT A JOKE! HA HA.
