CW is great, though very Eurocentric I'm afraid.

Cruiser has been really good for several years now & regularly produces great fights. There's virtually no American interest so it often fails to get the respect it currently deserves.

Super-fly is the worst division in boxing right now imo

Evander Holyfield is the greatest Cruiser of all time, it was a great division when he fought there. Mainly because he became Undisputed after cleaning it up, Cruisers nowaday are either too slow for Light Heavy or not good enough for Tyson Fury. Most Cruisers walk into the ring 220 lbs. 190 limit was possibly better

I don't think CW is that bad. Some decent fights last year with my favourite being Jones/Lebedev. Throw Cleverly and Bellew into the mix and it's not that bad at all.

It is and always has been straw/minimumweight. Cruiser has always been pretty weak because the good ones will obviously move up to HW because that's where the money is. But with the # of ex cruisers theat have been succesful at heavy it's clear it isn't as weak as it seems.
LHW/CW is about the avarage weight of a European male, so it isn't that strange.

Throw in 2 not so hard hitting LHWs? I'm interested to see how they'd do at cruiserweight but it's hardly exciting.

I know what you're saying. Just making a case for it not being the worst division.

    Nope

It's a strong division with a myth that it's weak due to their been no good black Americans in it and the fact it's DOMINATED by europeans. It's a great division, shame that the racist, butthurt black American fans refuse to acknowledge it as such. They do the same with the heavyweight division, indeed, any division that doesn't have a bunch of black Americans in it is somehow classed as being a "weak division". Kinda pathetic really, that they let their racial bias get in the way of their enjoyment of the sport.

As somebody else has already pointed out lebedev-jones was freakin awesome. you clearly didnt actually see the fight op. I actually voted for it as fight of the year in the poll on the ring magazine website.

And as was already pointed out Chakkiev vs Wlodarcyk was also a *******. I also enjoyed Mateusz Maternak v Grigory Drozd. Drozd is someone who will be in good fights going forward too.

This is no way the weakest division and it has some good quality operators who match up well against each other. Last few years we have seen some top notch fights in this division, Cunningham v Hernandez 2, Huck v aFOLABI 2, Huck v Arslan, Hernandez vs Troy Ross.

As someone pointed out it is a very "eurocentric" division but that doesnt mean its a bad one. Dont just criticise a division cos you havent gone out of your way to watch any of the fights

Chambers added so much excitement when he announced he was going to clean up the division. All of sudden there was hype on how good the division is.

Plenty of good fighters and match-ups to be made at CW.

    Huck/Arslan 2
    Nathan Clevely/Makabu will be fun...
    Lebedev/Jones 2

Juan Carlos Gomez moved back down, Tony Bellew might move up... You still have YPH, Wlod, Mchunu, Afolabi, Chambers, Chakhkiev, Garrett Wilson.... Can anybody find Troy Ross??

Chambers gets schooled by a unheralded prospect and its back to "the division sucks" talk. As always CW is underappreciated mostly by people who don't even follow the divison. In 2013 the division provided us with 5 or 6 excellent fights and a potential FOTY.

Real solid group of belt holders. None of them are weak even if there isn't a genuine elite talent and the same can't be said for most divisions.

    Huck
    Wlod
    Lebedev
    YPH
    Jones

Contenders are solid to very good

    Drozd
    Ross
    Afolabi
    Arslan
    Chakhkiev
    Alekseev
    Masternak

    Excellent crop of prospects

    Usyk
    Kudryashov
    Makabu
    Kucher
    Glowacki
    Kalenga
    Mchunu
    Dorticos
    Akberbayev
