    Really??

I think the possibility of a fight with Martinez for a world title - which he won - proved to be a much bigger and better route to go down than a British title fight with Sykes.

Also if he didn't want anything to do with Sykes, why would be bring him in a sparring partner?

I think Walsh has more tricks than a ****** of trees. I have warmed to Gary Sykes over the years, he's proved he's a good fighter and not just some spice boy.

Dave this is exactly what I mean when you let yourself down regarding boxing knowledge, Walsh is primarily a switch hitting counter puncher and Sykes a aggressive front foot fighter, both have decent defensive skills
and id say Sykes punches harder, if any of the boxes like Ricky its Walsh, I simply cant see were your coming from never mind I will give you the benefit of the doubt your fae Dundee :lol::lol:
Happy New Year by the way

Like sykes but think walsh is relentless

I know he has a win over Coyle in the prizefighter format, but how do you see a 12 rounder going between the two?

Walsh is pretty come forward in the fights I have seen. Both will meet in the centre of the ring.. Walsh is more Southpaw with a bit of switch hitting is quite vulnerable when he goes orthodox.. I've watched a lot of both. I see a lot of similarities between Ricky and Gary. Obviously not on the same level but similar in a lot of ways.. Will be a cracking fight no matter what our opinions are.. Happy New Year to you and your family too Billy

I just think Sykes has been in a lot of hard fights where as Walsh is on the way up & improving. I hope I'm proved wrong though.
