    The fight was in the meadow bank sports centre and it's capacity is around 2.5k nowhere near your figure, great atmosphere that night all the same

    I was merely surprised at it't results, an english fighter being so popular even against home grown talent.

    I'm not really surprised, casuals loved Hatton even in Scotland people always wanted to watch him fight.

    Your right, at the same time Scots boxing fans never had anyone at that time because Scott Harrison was out the game and a lot of people never took to Alex Arthur. Don't get me wrong a lot of people never took to Scott Harrison as well due to his hard man image. But as i say at that time a lot of casuals got behind Hatton because the Sky bandwagon ppv fighter.

    With regards to the original question I don't find that surprising I think 40,000 went to vegas to see the mayweather fight that's just insane for any boxer away from home

    Agreed. No other British Fighter in the last 30 years could take 25,000 + over to Vegas.
