Keith Thurman is fully aware that outside of 147, he will become another guy chasing a payday...nothing to prove Keith Thurman has what it takes to be the next Great Welter, Hagler had no issues beating down everybody at 160 although he turned pro at Light heavyweight, he did it the hard way, that's why he is ATG higher than most multi division cherrypickers without having to leave his division :nono
Hagler was just one militant minded, tough sob. Truly one of my all time favorites. Thurman, I am excited about! His footwork at times seems a little awkward. His power is real as he is mowing down solid competition. He isn't afraid to exchange, and you can bet he will get the better of one 90% of the time. Sure he hasn't put any names on the resume yet, but some guys you know are the real deal like GGG, Kovalev, Rigo(before Donaire). He is also managed very well, as there is a clear step in competition with every fight. If his chin continues to hold he will be champ for a very long time(unless he cashed out).
His management is loyal and they will get the big $ later anyways, much more than they will get for aborting his career outside 147
keith thurman isnt even hyped like that. hes gets the props he deserves nowone says anything bad bout the guy because he is legit and well rounded fighter and hes a threat to anyone at welter or jr middle
Thurman is good fighter, and his career is at good pace, right now. He is improving every fight, and he is entertaining in the ring. He's young, hungry and on the come up. I'm not seeing "the hype". He'd match up competitively with most of the guys at WW.
:good Exactly. Give him 2 more years to mesh everything together at his current rate of improvement and he'll be a monster. He's already a tough H2H matchup for most of the division and he hasn't peaked yet. It's going to be exciting seeing where he goes from here.
I favor Thurman over any Welter...It's difficult to rank him above Mayweather because of statistically Mayweather has to always be the favorite
SKS1943, this thread not really a hit with the critics. Not a stunning success. And to abandon it the way you did was shameless.
Nobody has answered the question I asked in my original post: "What's so unique and special about this fighter?"
