Cracking videos, reminds me of watching my first PPV as an 8yr old. Judgment Night I think, he fought some Argie bloke on the Benn vs Collins 2 undercard Remegio Molina if memory serves?? The other bloke wasn't much cop but you cab only beat the bloke in front of you. That night was vintage Naz, he hit like a middleweight

 

Remember the Kevin Kelly fight, what a fighter, what a showman....So sad defo could have been an ATG

 

sadly missed in the ring..dont think there will be another fighter like him.

To be honest,mate,I never saw much of it in that fight.It was the first one that he entertained the possibility that he might lose,he moaned about the gloves and for the first time didn't jump the top rope.I think he knew what was coming.

 

But thats always the myth, he lost that fight but it was never the pasting everyone makes out and that was a Naz not interested or trained properly

 

No shame at all losing to him,he's an all time great.But Naz kept saying he was gonna be a legend.Although a top world class boxer,he never achieved that.Its only my opinion,but I think if he'd tried again,he'd have been beaten again,possibly stopped.And there were a couple of others around who would have done it also.

 

Well,Westy,I don't think he took a pasting but at the same time never looked like winning.As Barrera said,he was his daddy.Heard him say in an interview that he'd got weight problems,which I can easily believe,especially looking at him now,but maybe the not training is a myth.A lot of people say it,but Ive heard from a very good source that he DID train.No way of knowing,really.

 

There is a documentary on youtube about it,his training was awful and he was not interested.

No excuses though he lost, but he lost to an all time great, and that all time great won but it was no where near a pasting.

But at the top level the ingle defence dont work and we found out that night it defo dont work against an ATG

 

If thats true you could possibly draw a parallel with Graham vs McCallum,though I personally think Bomber did better than Naz.I could be a bit biased as I liked his personality,were human after all.

 

Bomber was a great fighter, but always fell short. Naz did win titles

 

Cant argue with that.I was amazed when Graham came back like he did,though.Beat some really good fighters,nearly beat Brewer.Would have done a few years earlier.But that was the story of his life.I guess he came back cos he needed the money,don't suppose for one minute that Naz did.As you,mentioned BTW the Kelley fight was one of the best up and downers ever IMO.

 

Basically yes.

The ingle defense will get you so far, but when your fighting an ATG he will pick you off and thats what happened.

Naz was poorly managed towards the end
