Danny vs Floyd 0 vs 0 or Floyd should Wait....

The problem with a Danny and Floyd fight is that if you box Danny, he will box you back and that would be his undoing in a Mayweather fight. He knows that he is a boxer puncher and that just won't get it. I don't think he fears Floyd and would fight him if it came to it but he would rather shape his destiny his way. If he can clean up 147 with the talent that it has in it then his legacy will be two thirds done. You got Thurman, Porter, Maidana, Lopez, Paulie, and the Top Rank guys like Bradley and Prov. If he can make it through that list of jawbreakers and technicians then he's set.

 

Everyone beats Pac until Pac beats them during the actual fight. You are practically planting the seeds to grow more *******s.

 

What Pacquiao has that Garcia doesn't have is comparable athleticism to Floyd, high workrate, awkward punching angles, and shocking power. He is not technically a better boxer than Garcia and I'd give Garcia a solid shot to beat Pacquiao if they fought but Pacquiao matches up better with Floyd. Garcia and Floyd fight, Garcia can't win a counterpunching contest with Floyd, can't catch up to Floyd to slam him on the inside(where Floyd is also technically better when he chooses to be) with the gap in speed, and doesn't have the one-punch power to really have the proverbial puncher's chance.

And you are correct, Pacquiao is not the only matchup out there for Floyd. But if you're talking about realistic credible threat matchups, I pretty much say it's him, Lara, and the top Middleweights that only represent a threat to Floyd. Regardless, it is a sad state of affairs(as usual with Floyd) that it appears to be either Khan or Maidana, despite my naysaying of the Garcia matchup I much prefer it to either of them.

 

Well, he's certainly young enough and he's put together a pretty impressive string of victories. Of course, you never know how he'll do when he moves up(Tito), but he's got the physical tools and mental toughness to have a long, successful career.

 

Very smart. Danny is the undisputed champ at 140lbs. Everybody isn't suppose to jump weight classes just b/c the public wants him too. If anything, Danny might be better off not fighting Floyd (at least this year), so he can build his own legacy. When most people fight Floyd, they are never the same, along with fighting Hopkins.

i think the only guy more deserving of a shot at floyd is tim bradley. i'd welcome the garcia fight because he's definitely earned the shot at floyd. if they opt to pass up on it at this time...they may never get it. floyd's only got 4 left. coming off the biggest win of his career...there aren't too many other guys to shine against at 140 that would keep the spot light on danny. if he moves up to 147...there's plenty of competition there. i think all roads go through keith thurman at 147. i'd welcome a match up between any of these guys. they're all intelligent boxers and that is what i like to see.

I think the fight should happen, but at 140. Taking the LWW belts and lineal title would make for a nice trophy. Not to mention beating the reigning, undefeated LWW king on his own turf. I think it would be a more competitive fight than Khan, for sure.
