danny garcia and cotto: overrated or underrated

How can a guy be "exposed" given his resume? That term is for fighters who haven't really stepped up in comp yet and people aren't sure how they would fare once they step up in class. Garcia just beat the guy who most hardcore fans thought would decapitate him in Matthysse.

 

Beat everyone to beat at 140.

Cotto never did that at 140 , 147 or 154.

Overated based on his fans opinion ,

i think he is a very good fighter but not a great. Therefore if a fan says he is a great i think that is an over statement .

Nothing more nothing less.

 

i don't think anyone is saying he's great but he's definitely an A- class fighter. his losses came against some of the best in the sport. 2 of those losses may have been against cheaters. he gave floyd the toughest fight of his career. how anyone can call him overrated is beyond understanding.

Again I like Miguel and he's given me plenty of great entertainment over the years but he's one of the most overrated fighters ever. Most of his won titles were vacant and the one he did depose an incumbent champion in was Yuri Foreman.

Somehow he inevitably gets a pass on all the vacant title wins and I just don't get why. Great entertainer? Undoubtedly. World class operator? Likewise. The great fighter people make him out to be? Nope.

 

If Cotto was fighting the kinda guys Garcia has been fighting he would just win too. If Garcia moved up and fought the guys Cotto has fought he might not just win.

Both guys are rated correctly imo.
