which of one these plans wasn't a joe calzaghe plan?

plan A - fight an unkmown weakling from divisions lower and pretend they are world class
plan B - pick them when they get to 40.
plan C - ask ref to stop the fight after a few slaps land (not feasible outside Cardiff)
plan D - fake hand injuries till the opponent got bored of asking for a new fight date or they got injured and then challenge them immediately!
plan E - get out of a risky fight by citing lack of preparation time.
plan Z - spike the opponents sample with cocaine.

 

Joe always had a plan to beat Tyson too.

He was NEVER lineal 175 champion

Dariuz won all the major belts and never lost them in the ring, Joe was not in that line thats a fact buddy.

He retired with no losses because he took no major challenges. Did he fight a lot of FORMER past their best champs , yes he did. Later in his career did he fight some names yes. Did he do anythign amazing- certainly not.

Jones had just returned to 175 after fighting Ruiz for the heavyweight title, he outpointed Tarver and then lost his next 3 fights, two of them by KO, and he hasn't beaten anybody of note since.

Froch fought a close hard fight against Glen Johnson, Froch was unable to outbox or stop Johnson, he ended up in a toe to toe battle and was caught with plenty of big shots.

Bute gave Johnson a boxing lesson, Johnson hardly landed a punch, and was very very passive for most of the fight, which was obviously due to not wanting to taste Butes trademark left to the liver.

Froch blasted Bute to a standstill inside 5 rounds.

Ive not read the whole thread so if i am repeating what anyone else has said then my apologies.

Joe was a very good fighter, maybe even possibly been viewed as a great but the problem is he spent so many years fighting nobody's and lets be honest some very mediocre by Championship standard boxers that it will always go against him.

When in his prime and it was mentioned about fighting in the USA against even half decent opponents i am sure i recall the excuse being that he was 'scared of flying'??? Funny how that fear went away when the fights were against well past it names!

In my opinion, his legacy would be viewed upon far greater if he had fought the best, at there primes and maybe even had a loss or 2 as he actually did have some great talent but typical of that era in british boxing a lot of great fights never happened.
