True but he dropped Martinez and was somewhat known by the yanks. Kirkland is an aggressive fighter like Stevens and American I think being American and aggressive with a KO reputation helps. Geale needs to fight in the U.S.A and develop a fan friendly(that casuals enjoy) style or earn a shot by becoming mandatory.

HBO wants Kirkland to be GGG's next bout, much more than Geale who is a far 2nd or 3rd option. Its scheduled to be in the US in late April, so HBO would always prefer an American who is marketable & speaks his mind...not a quiet spoken Aussie.
