    :good

I didn't score the fight, nor did I follow your RBR which I usually do.

I just felt Dawson was coming on very strong late on in the fight, and Pascal was fading, I don't think Dawson would've scored the knockout.

Either way, it was a pretty good fight, wish they could do it again should Pascal KO Bute.

Unfortunately, Dawson damaged himself when he fought Ward at 168. That was a crazy move. I don't think he will be the same boxer again. His brain is kaput.

Ward is lightyears ahead of Pascal, and Stevenson blew him out with a monstrous left hand down the pipe.

Dawson might've tarnished his punch resistence, but he might still have enough to be competitive with Pascal.

Yes. Even when he was fighting at 168, Bute was heavier than 171 10 days before a fight. In fact, he was heavier than that one day before the weigh in!

No, Pascal was taking round 11 off to finish the fight very strong. Dawson understood the plan and gave all he could. He was coming strong for 1 minute + an uppercut.

When he landed the uppercut and Pascal looked a little stun, what Dawson did? Nothing, cause he had no more juice.

Dawson never won by KO in the last round and Pascal has never been down in his entire carreer.

    ... Maybe... Maybe not...

Yeah, the closest Dawson ever came to showing championship round power was his knockdown in the 12th of Tarver I, and his TKO11 of Ian Gardner.

He is usually pretty weak in those deep waters. He lost the championship rounds in Johnson I & II, Adamek, Hopkins II, and of course succumbed to Ward in the 10th.

Still, whether there was a lull in his attack or not and whether or not he was a reliable career finisher late, Pascal did look pretty ragged and the fact is we shall never really know how close he was to perhaps getting dropped from exhaustion and accumulation in the last four minutes. (although Dawson needed more than a single knockdown to even get a draw...unlikely...)

You're saying it was all part of the plan to get pasted for a round? Somehow I doubt the rope a dope and headbutt cut was in the plans. He got knocked around pretty good for a stretch there. Pascal fought a decent fight, but it wasn't the domination people seem to think a few years later. I'm only going off my memory from the 1 and only time I watched it, but IIRC, he fought ok, but mainly fought in short spurts. Dawson simply refused to engage, and Pascal was able to bag a bunch of rounds with this approach, while Dawson was reticent for the vast majority of the fight. When Dawson did finally decide to take the fight to Pascal, you could clearly see the difference in skills. Pascal was hurt pretty bad 1 point, by an uppercut IIRC, but Dawson refused to follow up, and might have punched himself out. There was no doubt who the more skilled fighter was, Dawson, but Pascal clearly had/has more heart and a will to fight.

They should do it again even if Bute KO's Pascal.

Would be a good $$$$ maker, especially if they both make solid comeback fights vs decent comp....ie George, Chilemba, Mac etc....

Yeah, if Pascal loses to Bute......a fight between Pascal and Dawson would be a solid one. Win or go home type....kindof the way this fight is for Bute.:think

Yeah. Dawson's stock has plummeted thru the floor. Not sure how motivated he is anymore. I think he is that kind of done. He was never a blood and guts guy anyway. A domination and systematic beatdown immediately followed by a brutal 1 punch, 1st round KO is enough to make a mentally tougher guy shy to the fight. With a guy like Dawson, it could mean curtains for his career.

Lol, did you see the card's number? http://boxrec.com/show_display.php?show_id=677666

    Since the 80s probably.

Stevenson is overrated. He was exposed some times in his last fight but the opponent was rather mediocre.

If they would have got Dinu against a decent opponent on the undercard. And what happened to Pier Olivier Cote, I thought after Bute, Interbox might make him the new main event.

Pascal has a bad chin, no stamina, only fights in spurts, if Bute shows up at his best, he will knock Pascal out...............
