This is also short and sweet. It also describes Amir Khan, apart from him saying Bradley was ducking him. While this can be called forgivable,I don't think its very fair.

    He's basically a mini-Holyfield in many regards.

The difference in popularity is that Evander really got famous for beating a "villain", and Bradley got a robbery over a "hero". That's not Bradley's fault, but for the public, the only real way to show disgust over it is to take it out on the fighter, fairness be damned. How he acted directly after the Pac fight didn't help him, either, because that was many fans' first exposure to him and he didn't come off well.

I think he won a lot of people back over with the Provodnikov fight.

Because he's not Mexican or Mexican-American.

Realistically when your talking about the boxing market in the States, the only demographic that matters and has the power and money is the Hispanic audience.
Unfortunately for Black Americans they can dominate a division as well as Bradley or Ward do, but they are still regarded as a minor in terms of influence, so there are problems getting the recognition and pay they deserve.

In Bradley's case he has to struggle to win over the neutral fans (Whites) Because he knows he can't count on an entire country being behind him like most Hispanics can.

ps. Im not being conceited. Its just something I've noticed, observing the way boxing as a business is handled.

If Tim Bradley was knocking people out he'd had have loads of fans. It doesn't matter what race, nationality, ***uality you are, if you're a boxer and your winning by knocking people out, you'll have fans.

If you are going this route at least be on target. The "Mexican style" of boxing is way more appealing to most boxing fans than "Black style".

So it's not really that Bradley is black, it's more that he fights like the stereotypical black fighter.

Whether you accept it or not, most boxing fans prefer the aggressive fighters
    regardless of color or nationality.

Both are black US slicksters fighting at roughly the same weight

Tims a good guy, Floyds a wanna be thug
Tims humble, Floyds ego caused the greenhouse effect
Tim fights anyone, Floyd either retires. or pretends hes never heard of them

The Pac bout both brought him into the public eye for the 1st time and damned his reputation via the b.s. decision. Ever since than he's had a tarnish over him that is hard to wash away.

His war with Provo and complete shutout over Marquez is helping is case, but he needs to keep winning and eventually he may gain the public's approval. Unfortunately his style is somewhat boring and strangely he has a complete lack of power for a guy who appears to be powerful.

Someone nailed it on the head when they called him a mini Holyfield, who without Tyson would have been completely forgotten by now.

Boxing would be dead if that happened.
