Joe Calzaghe vs Cassius Clay (Doug Jones era)

    Back to another installment of Calzaghe vs heavyweights.

    How would a PRIME Calzaghe do against a young Cassius Clay?

    NOT Muhammad Ali, that's a whole different fighter.

    Young Clay was troubled BADLY by Doug Jones and Henry Cooper.

    Jones and Cooper were blown-up Light heavies, and they were not NEAR as fast as Calzaghe.

    It may sound crazy, but if Joe fought the Clay than fought Doug Jones....it would be Joe Calzaghe that would fight Sonny Liston for the heavyweight title.

    And who knows how Joe would do against Liston....But that is for another thread.;)

    Who do you guys think would win between Joe and young Cassius?

    A prime Joe never felt the power of a full fledged heavy. Plus, Joe, isn't a blown up light-heavy; he's a blown up super-middle. Not to take anything away from Joe, but I definitely go with Ali...erm clay on this one.

    Jones and Coop weren't nearly as fast as FMJ either. What is your point? I like Calzaghe as much as the next guy and he is unquestionably an ATG @ 168, but Jeez Louise it's time to move on and get a life. And for God's sake, take down the Calzaghe posters from your bedroom ceiling.
