    Thank **** for that

Nice to see Barker took all his blinkered fans for a ride over to Germany, that was some hilarious yet sick joke

    Cheers

It was always gonna happen. Glad he got the chance to fulfil his dream and win a title but I think that was it once he beat Geale. Any of the big names being lined up and talked about such as Martin Murray, GGG, Martinez (rematch), Geale (rematch) would of taken that title straight off him. Maybe Hearn should of looked at Macklin as a potential winnable fight. That said Sturm was offering life changing money, and looking back and seeing through all sky and Hearns hype Sturm was offering big CASH OUT money. Its a shame cos he had the talent but an injury ravaged career and his lack of power meant he could never be a great.

    Cheers Dazza.

I think he can look back on his career without any regrets. Did he go into the Felix fight knowingly injured? Almost definitely. It's not fair on the fans that shelled out to travel but they won't pay his bills in a few years time. I wonder if he bet a large amount of that purse of Felix too...

Glad he won a world title. I liked Barker, he always seemed like a great guy. Very talented boxer, shame he's so injury prone.

Yep , well done to Darren, not many become a world champion in their career and he was plagued with injuries as I understand it his hips being the worst and that's what finally gave in.

IMO he did take the P out of the fans for his last fight but that's the business side of it!

Could be a good addition to SKY punditry?

probably best decision he should be well pleased with what he achieved and hope he can stay in the game as a trainer as he strikes me as someone who would be a good motivator and seems quiet knowledgable.

    Agree with that.

He was more Darren Anderton than Darren Barker for a long time, and it's a shame that we missed out on Barker/Macklin; But fair play to him - He won a world title and he can start the next chapter of his life/career now. :good

Any young up and coming boxer would give their left arm (ok bad pun in this scenario) to achieve what Barker did.

He probably over achieved in getting the World title IMO. Fair play to him.

Too boring? not saying Barker is boring but I guess his voice isn't the most fan friendly.
