The "haters" always say Mayweather never takes a fight unless he can win it. So according to them, he would not have beaten Barrera because he didn't fight him. He has a crystal ball.

As a business owner, I completely understand risk management, but to say that a fighter can strategically choose only fighters that pose absolutely no threat to him is ridiculous. Anyone entering the ring has a chance. Especially when these fighters are good, younger, undefeated, and/or rated in the top 10. It's just a way for his detractors to dismiss any opponent with out looking at the whole picture.

It's impossible for anyone to mitigate risk to perfection, and generally just a weak ass argument. Even the best gamblers lose...a lot. The truth is that he's actually very good, great. If not, by now at 45-0, one of these "cherry picks" or underdogs would have "exposed" him, a la Broner, Bute, Tyson, etc.

That being said, Khan is a very weak opponent(not necessarily given his perceived ability, but rather his current record, and form), and it's disappointing that he's not trying to make the Pacquiao fight.

mayweather never fought an ATG in their prime that's why he is undefeated. if oscar de la hoya never fought mayweather, pacquiao, hopkins, trinidad, mosley, etc he would be undefeated as well.

Oscar would still be defeated multiple times - he lost ALL the biggest fights of his career
Oscar's resume is ATG, but don't mistake that for his skillset, which is only HOF

This post would make one think that you think that Mayweather is an ATG. You list Mayweather as one of the opponents that, had Oscar De La Hoya not fought, would have remained undefeated. Prior to that you stated that Mayweather never fought an ATG in their prime. So do you consider Mayweather a prime ATG when Oscar fought him?

If not, why would you include him in that list? :huh It's as if you're saying Oscar only lost to ATG's.

the name doesn't matter, you're missing the point, which is that oscar fought the p4p #1 fighter in the world in their prime. not only once but twice. something mayweather didn't do when he had the chance, get it, got it, good?

Funny thing is people rag on Mayweather for fighting Oscar, Mosley and Cotto later in his career, but a lot of that has to do with Arum, Mosley and Oscar.

Cotto probably would have fought whoever Arum put in front of him most of his career, but it was Arum that didn't make Cotto-Mayweather when he had the chance.

For the most part it is Arum who keeps his cash cows away from each other until its time to cash one out.

try to keep up, this conversation is about mayweather being undefeated because of the level of opposition he has faced.
