It's hard to know how someone from a third-worldish place like Cuba will handle freedom and distraction/opportunity over time.

Sometimes they go kinda gaga over all the things there are to do and the freedom to do them. In Cuba they probably had boxing or picking tobacco or cutting sugar cane ... and if they were 'allowed' to box they had to work their fannies off or chance being sent off to the cane fields or something. In Ireland (or the U.S. or wherever) they have many other choices with what to do with their time, and the incentive changes from fighting to get something rather than fighting to get away from something.

he's got a good chin and stamina but thats about it....i like irish mike but he's nothing more than a club fighter and i do think the last fight affected him but not that much because his skill level is very low but none the less i think he's a standup guy donating a portion of his proceeds to his prior opponent.

Something that may be a factor is for the takam fight he did not have his regular conditioning coach.
