After years of hype, can we finally agree that Bute was just never that good?

:patsch jesus! there's a reason i don't post on this **** site as much any more...

the point i'm making is that when they lost they were damaged goods. they weren't exposed, just that they lost to a better fighter on the night but were never the same again afterwards.

do you understand now?? or was that still too difficult for you? :patsch

Watch some more of his fights. Compare Ward's fights with Miranda and Bika to Bute's fights with them. Compare Froch's fights with Magee and Johnson to Bute's fights with them. Before Froch knocked him out Bute wasn't "actually sh1t" or "actually terrible".

"no question about it"? I think you can absolutely question whether he was any good to begin with. He was easily outclassedy the two strongest opponents he faced. There is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that hints at him being world class at any point in his career.

Beating guys more dominantly than p4p #2 Andre Ward doesn't count as evidence?

Maybe its a good thing you don't post ,considering your trying lump this guys with those legends .

The hall of famers you referred too were all battle tested they didn't fold once they fought an elite guy, unlike your boy Bute who was fed stiff after stiff .

The minute he stepped up in class he was exposed Huge difference .

Maybe it's too difficult for you to understand that he was never as good as you thought he was.

    What does that mean?

Watch his fights prior to the Froch fight to see if he was good or not before Froch smashed him.

sorry, you're right. the likes of the ATG Frazier before and after the Ali win was truly battle tested against the very best there was. that's why he's such a super ATG, hey?

and Foreman? beat that super great in Frazier, that other super great in Norton, then lost to two all time mega greats in Ali and Young. there isn't much to speak of for Foreman other than that, but he's still a mega super great because... well, the Yanks keep on telling us they are. so it must be true right? their resumes speak for themselves. all those great names they both beat. such all time mega greats aren't they?

so it was stupid to put a bum like Bute who hasn't done anything in the same sentence as those two proven greats with all the world class opponents they beat wasn't it?

    won't do it again. :good

if Ali, Frazier and Foreman aren't proven greats, then who were the real greats during that era. Were they fighting under the radar in pubs in Liverpool?

Bute was probably the 5th best super-middleweight (behind Ward, Calzaghe, Kessler, Froch) of his short "era". So he was pretty good, just not great. He probably would have lost to Dirrell as well.

Who are these guys? Bute doesn't have a single A-class win on his resume. Nothing else counts.

He has so many tools but doesn't put them together. He throws the straight left as quick as Pac, his uppercuts to the body are devistating, he actually took some good punches from Pascal (so I don't think his chin is as bad as Froch made it look), the height, etc. Just fought a timid, terrible fight. He still has the tools after the Froch loss, but I can't see him bounce back to what he used to be.

What about the actual WBC belt holder that he beat while Bika was in his prime and looked better than both Ward and Calslappy doing it.

    Froch just ruined Bute.
