I think Ward would have smothered and pot-shotted his way to a points win over any version of Bute. At the same time as Bute's speed and movement might have caused Ward some trouble, I can't think off the top of my head of anyone that Bute fought, who was particularly quick or athletic (correct me if I'm wrong).

I wouldn't take Ward's hesitancy to make a fight with Bute as a sign that he was wary of him. It seems to me that Ward likes to roll his eyes and complain about nearly any fighter than anyone suggests he should take on. I don't think it's fear-I think he's just a bit righteous like that.

When froch can destroy u then u are not even local level forget world level

The only threat to ward was direll

Direll is undefeated and beat froch easily

    Ward should have fought direll

Froch is a talentless bum with a chin

Bute is the biggest joke, as bad as GGG

Before Bute walked into the ring with Froch, he had a nervous broken look about him. a look never seen before in a fighter of his calibre.

The week leading up to the Froch fight, he was essentially shunned by the British fans and Team Froch. He looked like a deer in the headlights stepping in there.

He's been essentially the same since. Nervous, scared to engage, although his lack of activity has caused him to defend and take massive flurries and faces agressive attacks. He's taken them all and many power shots without dropping.

Froch ruined him mentally, BEFORE and AFTER their fight.

Bute pre Froch, and perhaps even post Froch would KO Ward EASILY.:deal

Honestly never saw anything in Bute. He's painful to watch.

Moves around the ring like he's **** himself constantly looking like he's one punch from the floor.

I actually feel sorry for him when I'm watching him.

Is this a bumped thread from the guy who claims he doesn't comb through my post history? :nut

Where did I say I didn't like Brute? I rather like watching him fight, but he was exposed by a fighter Ward did expose. Am I wrong, stalker?

At the time Bute had an undefeated fighters confidence that he doesnt appear to have now. Was confident to challenge Ward, was a bigger puncher than Ward, at the time before the defeat had looked better than Ward against common opponents, had had more world title fights, even though he didnt have Kessler on his resume, he had been in more fights against top 10 comp than Ward.

I think at that time (not now) Bute would have beaten Ward. Ward although physically strong is not a massive puncher and think it would have been Butes punches doing the more damage.
Yes I think Bute would have won.

Why was it Ward didnt go for Bute? What top undefeated fighters has Ward beaten? Why would he not have wanted the then biggest SMW fight to be made?

Bute never was top fighter in division for one second of his life, being undefeated doesnt mean you are top level fighter, today in 90% means you have extremely padded record look at Wilder, Cleverly etc
Win over Froch means much more in the long run that win over Bute because Froch actually proved himself against the best while Bute clearly lost to two best fighters he faced.

Kovalev win over Cleverly(undefeated B-(at best) fighter) is much worse win than Ward over Kessler or Froch even tho they had losses, because they actually proven themselves before and after that fight.
UNDEFEATED doesnt make you TOP FIGHTER:deal
