Love how people here fell for that act in the 12th. Bute "gave it hell" because he was duped into thinking Pascal was gassed and wasn't going to throw back anymore. Even so, one round doesn't change the fact he was terrified the previous 11. Bute doesn't have the mental fortitude or skillset to adapt. He's had 3 **** performances in row now, he's not shaking anything off.
I couldn't agree more. He just didn't have it last Saturday. Pascal froze Bute repeatedly with flurries and Bute simply had no answer.
Bute is mentally broken. He can't pull the trigger anymore, he panics when he gets hit, he has no business in the ring with any of the top guys at 175 or 168, he is basically finished and if he continues to fight he is a brutal KO waiting to happen. Froch took something from him that he will never get back.
He can still fight others and make easy money with all the insane support he has from his loyal followers in Canada. Though at the top level he's pretty much done.
Borincano, if he beat Grachev or lost a close fight to Pascal where didn't freeze, then yes he could stay active. But let's face it Froch destroyed him mentally and you cannot box at elite level being only 70-80% mentally ready
I understand your point(s), however, Lucian has suffered a brutal beating at the hands of Froch and got schooled against Pascal. In reality he also really got TKO'd in his first fight with Andrade (though he looked solid in rematch). He just never was the special talent he was made to be in Montreal. A very good athlete but not an elite fighter.
he just lost to jean pascal. he was destroyed by the second best super middleweight, carl froch. where does he go from there? fights against kovalev, stevenson or ward are not only unmerited, but possible embarrassments waiting to happen.
He needs to, he fears pulling the trigger at this level........ I don't think he's shot, it's a mental scared thing with him, and fighting scared could get you hurt.....
ya i think the same....it might take a few years to over come the mental block, so by then i doubt he would be able to return....if he was 25 years old he would have a fighting chance...but not at his age now
Naw the problem existed before the ass whipping, hwhich is why he got beat down that bad vs Froch, he must of got his ass beat in sparring or something, but by the time the Froch fight came around, he appear of a unsure man thats afraid to pull the trigger. VS Froch he was scared hurt, instead of hurt hurt He needs to retire or go on bum tours from here on out he'll get hurt facing a high level pro, and get hurt seriously, **** I might whoop this hypejobs asss:think
