It's funny how two people can watch the same fight and come to totally different conclusions. I certainly never saw a scared Lewis when he fought Tyson, as he landed three vicious upper cuts in the 1st round and clearly hurt Tyson. After than he basically bullied Tyson and beat the living crap out of him for the next 7 rounds. The only reason it took as long as it did, was that Tyson has a cast iron chin and Lewis claimed he hurt his right hand during the fight and needed a couple of rounds to before he could throw it again with power.Naturally he was cautious in the first round as it was pretty much understood by all that Tyson had a punchers chance, which would likely only last a round or two.
Absolutely. His obsession with chess used to drive Manny Steward insane. He would even take a guy into training camp just to play chess with him.
Yep. Thats about the strength of it. And even during the fight Tyson said to his corner he couldn't beat Lennox cos he was too good. I also believe he has said since he would never have beaten Lewis for that very reason.
Agreed. And he caught Tyson and Holyfield at the perfect time for him. If Lewis went pro in 1984, I think his career would have had at least one more KO loss on it before he retired.
I've seen an interview where Tyson says he knocked lewis out the ring but that lewis came straight back and tried to kill him. Here it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-qwtodQ_XE
