If he opened up and traded with boxers he'd give away all his physical advantage and as a result he'd get knocked out more. Let's face it, Wlad has a soft chin, he knows it and we know it. You can't have a glass chin, open up and have exciting matchups trading toe-to-toe *AND win every fight. Won't work.

Wlad was ridiculed and laughed at when he got knocked out. Now he found a recipe that allows him to win like clockwork; being boring is probably the lesser of two evils to him.

 

Truly one of the worst ring displays of all time by a World Heavyweight champion.

What makes it even more sickening is that Wlad had significant size, speed, power and reach advantages over Povetkin yet chose to hug the life out of him instead of winning through boxing.

 

I love how Wlads biggest criticism was that he was soft, now people are complaining about what a bully he is after going to Povetkins back yard and abusing him.

Yeah, Wlad didn't have to clinch him so much. He didn't have to rag doll Povetkin multiple times like a child. Wlad didn't need to lay an old school beat down on Alex that came straight from the 1910's in front of all his friends and family. But, as ugly as the fight was-and it was plenty ugly- it's hilarious hearing everyone flip out about it lol

Being boring is one thing. But breaking the rules is another. Wlad should have been DQ'd in that fight because he was not fighting. Povetkin was just to nice and didn't foul him back. Imagine what Chiisora or Fury woulld havve done if he kept holding like that. That is one reason he ducked Chisora. Yes Wlad has a weak jaw but it was fun to watch him before he started holding. He does not even try for a KO anymore unless he is in no danger of getting hit. Hell he even was holding Mormeck for a few rounds which is sad. Only Wlads fan boys are defending him now. Wlad could care less. He will just keep fighting in Germany because they are the only ones that will pay to see that BS.

 

lol, it's amazing how much race is brought into the mix on this forum..gah people the point is he's a boring champion it has nothing to do with race. If a fighter is giving it all he's got and leaving everything in the ring, I don't give a **** if he is white, black, hispanic, asian or looks like a smurf; I'm going to support that boxer.
