this is obviously going to run and run so perhaps we could keep it to a thread or 2???? so, todays events 24/01/2014 Froch releases statement saying Groves been offered 7 figures to fight which he refuses..... IBF announce they order rematch!! Groves reveals the offer that seems pretty low considering the money that will be generated what do we make of it?????? at first it seemed to me that Froch had been having talks with Hearn and seen the public opinion was so high that he had crumbled only for Groves to seem like he is the one ducking the fight!!! then with the further news coming to light it seems to me as if Froch has got in early with his excuses 'he was offered big bucks for rematch, he refused he had chance ,already beat him .time to move on etc' there aint a chance this fight will be made in 90 days IMO,whether or not the IBF will let the fight take place after the 90 days remains to be seen.. or will the fight be made only for A BOGUS HAYE STYLE INJURY to put the fight back until may/june?
What a difference a day makes...24 little hours Froch STILL has TWO honourable options Rematch or Vacate,sorry I mean Retire :deal
i wonder where this leave howard foster.....not only did the ibf say groves was defending himself so a bad stoppage ,they also ruled he SHOULD have deducted points !!!! contracts need signed by feb 8th cant see it going ahead tbh
I wonder if Froch will give up the IBF title? They should suspend the damned referee, or at least send him to school.........
I think froch wins again and im not a froch fan, just think he was not up for the first fight I think this time will be different, groves couldn't of hit him with much more and he couldn't stop him , don't think this time will be any different. Rematches are rarely as good apart from gatti vs ward. Hopefully if groves wins emphatically we can have a trilogy.
