This is what is wrong with Boxing. Ortiz should have had a tune up fight to build his confidence. He last had his jaw broken, which is a lot like getting knocked out. there is a fear factor. Luis Collazo has always been a respectible fighter who has some questionable losses. Ortiz could come back, but likely would need to be managed by a Roach or someone of that caliber.

any idiot who thinks ortiz packed it in is a phukin moron, the shot he took directly on the chin with all callozos weight and balance against all vics weight and balance in opposite directions needs to follow a different sport.

that shot was 10x the shot that put paq to sleep for 5 mins. i still cant believe vic was semi concious for the count

Collazo, is a warrior....he always has a great attitude, professional and respectful. He's always involved in his community and that speaks volumes of his character. I hope this win puts him back in the game. I'd like to see him advancing for something great.

10x the shot? Im not even a Pac fan. But hell no. Pac got iced. He was coming forward and took a devastating punch that left him unconscious as soon as it connected. Victor could have gotten up from that punch. Pac would have gotten up from that punch.

What really sucks is that simply because Victor was conscious, alert, and moving, people will always have some question as to whether or not he just gave up. The only reason that possibility exists, is because he's shown a lack of heart before.

Mind you, we weren't there, and maybe he really did take just an amazingly brutal shot. Then again, maybe he felt he didn't need to be getting beat up like that... Man, he'll never live that **** down.

    Pac is gunshy.
    Nevermind the punch that landed.
Pac would of went down from thw wind from the 1st two punches that missed.

As the OP mentioned, Ortiz didn't go straight down after taking that shot. He stood there half hunched over. Collazo threw a couple of punches which didn't connected well to hurt Ortiz, but they did let him know he was still being punched at. I believe he went down to stop the punches coming in. If he went down from the actual punch it was a massively delayed reaction.

If you can stand 1 or 2 seconds after a blow, you can probably stand 10 or 11 seconds after it too.

Im not here criticizing the man. I respect him for even getting in the ring. But the reality is, is that he quit. That's his choice. It's his body, his health. But he did quit. He was very aware when he got dropped. And if you can stand up for a couple of seconds to dodge some extra punches, and if you're AWARE ENOUGH to dodge some extra punches. Then surely you are aware enough to realize that the ref is counting RIGHT NEXT to you.

This sort of makes me think he quit in the Floyd fight too. Not everyone can handle the big stage. Some people just arent built for it. and im talking the Big Stage in ANYTHING. Be it boxing or anything else. I mean look at Tony Romo.

I agree. Most people aren't cut out for boxing, and neither is Ortiz. It's nothing for him to be ashamed of.
